This is the most ridiculous thread that has been on this board in a very long time.  Let's start a thread to rail on someone for covering something up when admittedly there is no evidence of a cover-up.  Shocking thread on so many levels

Your lack of curiosity is disappointing but not unexpected.

Windhorst has a reporter's gold mine by having the inside info track on everything to do with one of the biggest stars of any type in the entire world. Why would he risk that by reporting something Lebron didn't want reported until after the Finals ended? Reporters hold stories all the time. There is no ethics about reporting a story ASAP. There is ethics about getting stories properly sourced and verified, which sometimes delays stories from being released, but there is no ethic about reporting a story just because you have one.

Ah Nick, you are contradicting yourself. A reporter holds a story until he can verify the facts. He doesn’t hold a story, Which is a another way of saying temporarily covering it up, when he already knows the facts.

Personal relationships should never get in the way of getting the story.
Not contradicting myself at all. Reporters verify facts which delay reports but they also hold stories based someone asking them to not report it all the time. Its not unethical.

LeBron is Brian's meal ticket and he knows it. He is LeBron state media.

That’s not how Woodward and Bernstein broke Watergate. By withholding the facts.

More like the National Enquirer surpressing the Stormy Daniels story pre-election. that’s okay with you?

Don't matter to me. Its what it is. I am positive reporters tell people, sometimes like their editors or people involved in the story,  they have a story and then get asked to hold releasing the story for....x....amount of time until ....y...happens, so the reporter does it. Just not important to me.

Sadly, journalists cover for their favored individuals / entities all the time. It goes back at least as far as FDR / JFK, and has become the norm today.  The media is more about controlling and packaging the release of information than it is about reporting on events.

basically.

Windhorst got on that LeBron teat early in his career and has held onto it for dear life.  Making himself a career in the process.

had nothing to do with a lack of curiosity and all about the tone, the jumping to conclusions, and the immediate guilt without evidence.  Typical of the time but sad nonetheless

Boomer Esiasan called out Adam Silver this morning (CBS Radio Spot) for asking States to pay Leagues an "Integrity Fee" for participating in gambling, asking where was the commissioner's integrity when Lebron's broken hand after game 1, which not reported until after the Finals were over.

The league will have a lot of catching up to do with the NFL on reporting injuries with the advent of legalized gambling, something that Silver has been a huge proponent of.  This is the primary reason the NFL has strict rules about reporting injuries before each game.

Expect to see similar rules adopted by the NBA, probably before next season.

Windhorst said in a podcast that was being recording during the Warriors celebrating the title (30 minutes after the game ended or so) saying that he saw LBJ was favoring his hand and had heard rumors it was hurt but he couldn't confirm anything solid.

Then after the press conference it all came out. My guess is that he knew his hand was hurt but couldn't confirm with his usual sources (aka LBJ camp and the Cavs org) so he didn't want to report it.
