  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
If he wants to mess around Danny Ainge will trade his ass in a heartbeat.

But, he wants to see where he fits in this team with Hayward.
He probably also wants to see if the Celtics court Lebron.

This is where Danny will have to be very careful with Kyrie's enormous, yet fragile ego.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I firmly expect Kyrie to go nowhere. Having said that, I love the trade season! :P

So here are 3 trade offers that I would consider fair value for Kyrie.

Kyrie straight up for Kawhi (assuming he is 100% healthy)
(FWIW the Spurs were on Kyrie's list of preferred trade destinations last summer.)

Kyrie + Clips 2019 for KAT + Aldrich + Tyus Jones
(Again, FWIW the Wolves were on Kyrie's list last summer.)

Kyrie for #1 + #16 + Dudley (salary filler)
(The Suns were heavily linked with Kyrie last summer.)

I don't think either of those trades are likely to happen. Quite possibly, they are not even realistic. All I'm saying is, that's what I consider to be fair value for Kyrie.
No Bron for Kyrie in a sign and trade? That's a realistic possibility.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

It's too early to speculate.

Kyrie HAS to know that BOS has one of the brightest futures among the teams out there.

He also has to remember that Hayward was one of the players he had a desire to play with? Well, we got him - and he'll be well-rested and ready for our championship run next season.

Stay the course, Kyrie (and Danny).

There is NO WAY that Kyrie Irving can't see BOS's future and his place here.

Nothing to see here. He just said what he needs to say. Even if he's committed, we're not sure about Ainge and the front office thinks either. It's silly to think about this too early when he still have one more year to exercise his player option.
Yup. Nothing to see at all

are you in denial?  ;D

Why isn't Irving saying.... YES I want to be a Celtic for the long term or retire as a Celtic

otherwise how are you so confident?

For a guy who was SO ecstatic from getting away from LeBron you'd think he'd at least pretend to be interested in staying on the team that traded for him....rescuing him from the Evil KING!!!

But the guy thinks the world is flat so who knows whats going on anymore.

I want no part of Drama Queen Lebron.

The comment about Irving having a peculiar personality is right on target. The guy is half-a-flake. I second the sentiment that any player who does not want to be in a great situation and is not honored to be a Celtic can look elsewhere. We have too many guys whose hearts are totally invested in this team to put up with someone who is not so sure he wants to be in Boston.

Drama Queen? Lol.

As if no Celtic has ever flopped or whined to the refs.....that never happens.

If you want to win a Championship you get the greatest player ever and you contend for the next 5 years.

End of story.

Forgot about Bron :)

Obviously, we 'd have to send back more contracts, but yeah, I'd do that trade. TP!

The sad thing is is that "IF" we had EITHER GH or Kyrie (much less BOTH) we'd be in a dogfight with Golden State right now....and certainly NOT swept in four games...

As much as I love LeBron James we don't necessarily need the BEST players to win it.

I’d be very worried by that comment if it came from anyone other than a guy who proclaims the Earth if flat.

The guy is a master troll and knows what to say to make headlines.

I’m sure Danny and Brad have a keen eye on the situation and if they should have serious doubt he wants to stay. If that’s the case, he will be gone by training camp.

Danny doesn’t play. Ain’t no thing. Kyrie is an unusual cat, but he won’t trick DA.

Kyrie isn't trolling.

He really believes and has gotten other players to believe it too like Shaq, Draymond Green, Wilson Chandler.....etc.

Towns and Gibson for Kyrie.  Minny might just do this.

I would do draft picks and Tyson Chandler for Kyrie.  Chandler would be good starting alongside Horford.

The bottom line though is that unless we really feel Kyrie is either (1) heading to the Knicks, or (2) going to have durability issues, we should not trade him.  For today's NBA, he is probably about the most valuable commodity; a scoring point guard.

Trolling the organization and the fan base wouldn't exactly be an endearing quality.

You can't say that for sure.

Who knows how the chemistry will be.

And let's say those two never get hurt I don't see Tatum or Brown progressing as much as they have this season to be honest.

LeBron actually PREFERS to pass...he's a reluctant shooter.

If LeBron were on THIS team he's probably spend more energy on Defense and be DPOY.

I think Kyrie needs to talk to THIS man

Mr. Neil Degrasse Tyson would set him straight.

If Neil can't do it then send in Dr. Phil

I believe the chemistry would've been fine.

It was Kyrie (and crew) that got us to 55 wins.

We needed sure-fire scoring in that game 7 in BOS with CLE...someone to get us easy buckets. Kyrie (or GH) would've fit that bill.

As much as I love Scary T I saw several instances of things that he couldn't do BUT Kyrie CAN...no offense to Rozier.

Kyrie is gifted and would've pulled us through that series...I have no doubt of this. And I don't believe it would've affected the chemistry at all.

I'm LOLing right now...imagine Kyrie Irving arguing with Dr. Phil and Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson on whether the earth is flat.

Problem is nobody is giving up much to be in the same situation with him wanting to leave to NYC.   Maybe SA cause Leonard is in the same boat.
