So we have news that Morris is "unsure how he fits" https://nesn.com/2018/05/marcus-morris-unsure-about-how-he-fits-with-celtics-for-2018-19-season/
In addition:
-Smart might get offers
-Baynes might be getting offers as well
-Rozier now probably could use more minutes as well
The rest of the bench is lacking

Is Ainge in a position to blow it up?

I don't think you can really "blow up" a bench...because it is a bench. But I would vote for minor tweaks rather than wholesale changes as being most probable.

I think he will.... they all played more than they expected..
If we assume that irwing Hayward Brown Tatum and Horford are untouchable I see us targeting another good player through the draft and bring some veterans.. smart Morris Nader Monroe even Larkin will go

To really be a championship team.  I think you only have 4 solid bench players getting 20 minutes a game.   Injuries are what derailed alot of teams.

30 plus
Kyrie
Brown
AL
Tatum
Hayward

Baynes, Thesis, Smart, Terry and Morris     If Smart wants 14 million he might be gone.....   ):

I wouldn't be surprised if the bench is fairly different apart from Ojeleye, Theis, Yabu.

Morris is likely to be unhappy if Brown, Tatum, Hayward are all healthy.  Rozier and Smart likely won't get enough minutes if Kyrie is healthy.  Baynes may not be affordable to bring back.  Larkin may not want to come back unless Rozier or Smart is traded / let go in FA.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Pretty much sums it up....

The bench will blow up by itself not because of DA

probably true, though i am not sure if you would put jabarbi bird in the first group. yes, he was a member of the bench for a few games. no, he was a member of the bench for only a few game.

but i do think he could be on next year's team.

Here are the "bench" players that played in the playoffs this year.  Each one played in at least 11 of the 19 games broken down by potential roles (I've added Theis who was hurt).

Main rotation - Rozier, Smart, Morris, Baynes, Theis
Deeper Rotation - Ojeleye, Monroe
Suits - Larkin, Yabu, Nader

That is all 15 players when you add in the 5 "starters" in Irving, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, and Horford.

Of those 10 bench players, I'd be surprised if at least 5 don't return, such that I'd expect 5 or fewer to actually be back.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I highly doubt that Monroe is back. I thought he would be a good addition but I was wrong. He could barely play in any games and when he did play it was painful to watch.

If we cannot resign Smart. I want to see Jabari Bird get his minutes. I think we have a diamond in the rough with Bird. I bet he lights up summer league.

Summer league will probably look something like
Semi
Allen
Bird
Nader
Yabu
draft picks

There will be changes and some we cannot foresee. The change may be major or minor.

I doubt Monroe is back. Cannot defend the PnR.
Wouldn't be shocked if Nader is cut and stretched
They could pair the late first with a body or two to someone with cap space.
Who knows what they think about Yabu.
They'll try to re-sign Baynes
They'll try to re-sign Smart.
They may well sign Bird.
Doubt they sign Gibson.
Expect MM back.

No need to blow up the bench 2/3 of the starters were out and the bench filled the void well. Tweak it and try to upgrade the 4/5 spot.

I think Morris is gone and Smart is gone. Good riddance to Monroe and Nader. Maintain Baynes and Rozier. Larkin and Theis still intact.

The bench will have 3 of;
Baynes
Smart
Rozier
Theis
Morris

You need a rotation of 10 normally that can then narrow down in the playoffs. So theoretically if you have 3 of those guys, you can use other assets to get the 4th. No problem

While I can certainly understand your points regarding Theis and, to a lesser extent, Ojeleye, I guess, may I ask as to why you believe that Yabu will even still be here, next year? Dude has shown absolutely nothing, imo.
