First shock but the win over Cleveland just gave us confirmation how good this TEAM can be.This organization is on the cusp of producing a sustainable brand of finals basketball .But the timeline has been been altered and over the rest of series it will shown by how much.
The ultimate quest Banner 18 will always be the driver for Danny Ainge.
These playoffs will further define moves that will be made.

The cavs aren't legit. This isn't the same team as before. Their 3rd best player is 37 year old Kyle korver and he gets guarded by a 20 and 21 year old. Hill, Nance, and Hood are useless and love will have another bad game or 2. Jr smith lays bricks . This series will show youth defeat experience

if we make it to the finals, we are going to make a serious case for winning a ring this year

None of our opponents know how to guard Brown, Tatum, and rozier and I consider it an x-factor.  When they think they've figured it out, we end up having something like Baynes shooting lights out from 3 to confuse them even more. We are confusing opposing players and coaching staffs. I saw Tatum blow past 3 76ers or pump fake a double team successfully that series. He has handles like a guard and they don't expect it. Covington had his ankles broken a few  times.

Then you watch Houston  versus Warriors and it just shows  clearly superior those teams are to Lebron and company
Remember Banner 18 goes through the West.
I hope Wyck resigns Marcus leaving an option of a later trade.

These threads kill me, Cloud nine when we win, the sky is falling when we lose.  Got to love this blog.

Excuse me-the OP was about game one and showing how good a Team this could be-and the balance of playoffs would define Dannys moves and that the Celtics are on the cusp of being a sustainable finals contender
My 2nd post then said how good the Western teams are compared to Lebron
I would even hypothesize that subconsciously Lebron might not like committing Seppuku center stage in Finals  and let his crew blow it against the Celtics
Was that a beast just watching and waiting or did he sense a futility with his supporting cast.

It's funny how it was early in the playoffs that no one can beat Bron and the Celtics are too young. Now it's the Celtics have all these high draft picks and they have a lot of talent.

The narrative will really flip if the Celtics win game #2. It will be that Bron doesn't have the help he needs and they shouldn't have let DWade and IT go.

I had to Google Sepuku (actually Seppuku) but I got the gist of your comment and I agree (quite a vocabulary there rollie).  I don't think LeBron or the whole team cares if they make the finals (at least they sure didn't play as if they cared on Sunday).  We shall see tonight what Cavs team shows up.  Even if LeBron plays inspired, I am not sure the team is going to follow him.  Play your heart out, lose in the finals, LeBron leaves, what is the point?

My fear is that leBron decides to play and someone like Thompson inspires the rest of the team but that is a lot of things that have to come together.

They didn't come together, they fell apart!

The playoff series does not start until we win on the road.

Let's get down to business in Game 3.
