More ‘exciting’ would be the #2 or #3 pick because it has a 2% chance of happening, whereas there’s probably a 50-60% chance we win this game.

I’d also say the pick because if we get it, I expect the kids to have big games to prove they shouldn’t lose time to the newest teenage phenom.

The #2 pick, its a lower chance and has a bigger impact on the potential future of this team. Plus its a one shot and then its done for a full year, even if the C's lose this game the series isn't decided!
Still want both, though!
Of course, I just thought the "both" option was boring.  :)

Weirdly I most of all don't want Cleveland to jump to top 3. I feel really confident in the Celtics future, I'd rather not have Cleveland get a life raft to help their future.

I’m most surprised that people picked the game.

#2 means luka doncic (the most nba ready draft pick of all time).

You think Doncic is more NBA ready than Tim Duncan?

Or Larry Bird?

Just because a player exceeds expectations and the result is that he's NBA ready from day 1 does not mean that he was considered NBA ready on draft day. Remember, Bird was taken 6th. Now, if we could jump into a time machine and redraft the '78 draft, I'm pretty sure Bird is taken 1st. It's just a bad argument.

Luka Doncic is already a top professional basketball player for 3 years in the 2 best leagues outside of the NBA. If there's ever a chance of someone entering the NBA and dominating from day 1, it's him. Why do I say that? Because he's already doing it. We don't have to guess.

Not even close. The long-term ramifications of the pick far, far exceed a win tonight.

Everything after the five minute mark of the season is gravy. We're playing with the house's money, and if we give a little back, I'm okay with that.

You guys are nuts.  We have a real chance of making the finals!  And yet people still care more about what might happen in the future?  Game #2 by a mile.

We don't hang banners for making the finals. Getting the #2 pick would do more to help us win another ring than a win tonight, so it's a no-brainer.

Not to mention that we can still win the series if we lose tonight (though it would be a lot harder). Getting the #2 or #3 vs winning the series would be a lot harder to answer
A bird in the hand, man.  A bird in the hand.

But anyway, I love the championship or bust folks.  If that were the case, why watch at all.  Just check at the end of the season and see who won.

I've been following the Celts for literally 40 years.  In that time they've won four titles.  It's about the experience, not the result.  I still remember and appreciate the PP comeback against the Nets, watching Reggie Lewis, the end of the big three era, Dee Brown pumping up his shoes, and on and on.

So yeah, playing in the championship, not matter the odds, would be fantastic.  And guess what, no one thought the Celts would get this far.  Who's to say if they get past the cavs that they can't beat the warriors?

Boy that's tough.

I'd lean towards the Lakers Pick though.

That could be a huge trade asset going forward OR could land us a legit blue chip frontcourt prospect going forward (Ayton, Bagley)

So I chose "both"...yeah, I'm greedy, but after losing Hayward in five minutes, combined with all the "luck" the Celtics have had over the years, it's about [dang] time we saw something good happening to this team.

Imagine a Suns or Sacramento fan reading this post  ::)

They can take it up with their management :)

#2 pick easily whether we use it to draft a top prospect or to get established talent in a trade.

It is only game 2 of the series so it doesn't decide anything and even if we get by the Cavs we aren't winning the Championship unless the Warriors suffer a significant injury.

I voted both but now I'm leaning #2, shucks.

EDIT: Now I'm leaning the other way, imagining an awesome Celtics win to go up 2-0. Best that I picked both.

I predict if our former Brooklyn pick ends up top 3 for the Cavs, they end up trading for kawhi and keep Lebron.

The pick and what else to match salary? Nance and a bunch of trash? Don’t get me wrong that pick is an A+ asset, but Danny could likely beat that offer if he thought it was a crisis.
