who will get paid more in the 2018-2019 season?  also, who will sign the largest contract this summer out of the three?

my prediction:
IT - one year deal for $10 million
Avery - two year deal for $15 million
Marcus - five year deal for $45 million (from us)

meaning, IT would get paid the most in 2018-19, but Marcus would sign the largest contract.

what do others expect (not what should happen, but what do you think will happen)?

I think your IT prediction is more a less correct.

Avery will - and should - get more than 2 years though, maybe 4 years at $50-$60 million. Smart will get $11m-$13m per year.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Someone will sign AB to the largest contract IMO. I hope Smart comes back on a reasonable long term contract.

IT will get a Rondo-deal.

After Evan Turner got that crazy contract from the Blazers, it's anyones guess. NBA teams make massive over pays all the time and when team's money dries up, they leave a few talented vets on short money.

I could see IT taking the large one year deal.

Smart the team friendly deal.

AB the best he can get, which will be the largest in total value.

My guess:
IT 1yr/$20M
AB 3yr/$39M
Smart 3yr/$31M

My guess?

Marcus Smart re-signs with us for 4/44M

AB signs with some team for 3/50M (maybe PHI if they strike out on max FA targets)

Isaiah signs a 1 year deal for 14-16M. OR... Maybe he re-signs with us for MLE and is willing to be a nice 6th man for us (if we sell high on Rozier this summer)  ;D

  • Everybody knows what's best for you
There should probably be a poll. Do you mind setting one up, Boulder?

I was going to start a similar thread asking if people would be interested in bringing back AB if Smart got an offer from another team that was too large to match. Personally, I think it would be great to have AB back off the bench, but we would need to keep Rozier since AB isn't necessarily known for his ball-handling and passing.

As it stands, while I think all 3 should be in the same range, I do think Smart has the best chance of getting the biggest offer - not because I think he deserves to be paid the most out of all 3, but because he still has the most 'potential'. Also, teams with cap space may value Smart's age more and they also will need to make a substantial offer for Boston not to match. I hope this is not the case (I would like to keep Smart), but you never know what might happen once the FA period begins.

I think IT will score a "prove it to me" one year deal above the other two.

My guess:

Smart - QO (market not favorable)
Avery - MLE (down year and dealt with injuries)
IT - MLE (out four months after late March hip surgery)

It's pretty clear watching these games Smart is a must sign. I figure Ainge must know that, since he's been watching, too. How much he gets depends on the cap and how they manipulate it.

We can give Marcus Smart whatever he wants but giving out a crazy big contract, ala Tristian Thompson, can kill a teams further flexibility. I am sure Danny will do the right thing. The Teams that could really use Smart to get over the playoff hump mostly don't have cap space.
Pacers have 8 million but The Celtics would probably go over that.
The Sixers could take Smart and that would make the rivalry even more intense.
The Jazz have 11 million they could offer Smart. The Jazz would be a really good fit for Marcus.
The Lakers could give him a big contract if they strike out on LeBron and George etc.... Marcus Smart and Paul George would be a crazy big up grade for the Lakers but I'm not sure you can start Smart and Ball in the backcourt. That's a terrible shooting backcourt.
All the other teams with space stink but maybe someone like The Hawks, Kings, Suns, Bulls, Magic, or Nets, make a massive overpay just to make a splash and try to change there teams culture.

I hope we keep Smart.
