Cavs in four. Maybe five.

Sorry,
Mike

Ditto. Refs will mollycoddle Lebron.

Based on what we saw the first two series, that's my biggest fear (after that LeBron guy). I think in all my posts on CB, this is only the second or third time I've complained about the officiating. But some of what we saw, particularly in Game 4 at Philly, was just outlandish.

Mike

Unless it's just my biased opinion, I thought the refs did a good job calling the game yesterday. There didn't seem to be many complaints from the players.

I thought they missed about 5-6 calls, but most of them they got right and they didn't disrupt the momentum of the game for either team.

Tatum still isn't getting any respect from refs on either end of the floor. He had a clean pick on one of his reach-in fouls and when he scores-with-contact on drives to the hoop, they don't call it. (It's the norm now.)
there were a few stretches where Cavs got a generous whistle -- also coincided with when they were making runs at the lead.  I'm anticipating a much more generous whistle for them next game (and the rest of the series).   C's weren't catching any whistles on their drives which was ludicrous in several instances.  I'm expecting that to continue as well.

The Cs needed game 1 and will also need game 2 to be considered even money in this series.  Going to Cleveland 1-1 isn’t good enough.  The Cavs should hold home court and return to Boston 2-2 if the C’s win on Tuesday.  So the good win yesterday was nothing more than what they had to do.  Cavs won’t shoot as poorly and Lebron won’t give away the ball 7 times again in this series.

50-50 series if the C’s hold serve at home tomorrow.  80-20 for Cavs if they take game 2.

agree here ^ .....C's ate still underdogs till they win game two .....at that point the odds more balance .

Game two is as important as one .

Lebron is like a nuke ,  waiting to go off and  hand it he C's four straight losses.

I don't think they are that invincible at their home court. We have seen their weaknesses now and we already know their strengths. The way I see it, it won't matter much whether we play in Cleveland or in Boston, we could lose or win a game either way. It's up to us, whether we can perform like we did yesterday for the most part, and up to their shooting, which is very streaky and could either kill them or kill us.

Having said that, I think it's a 50-50 series as it is right now and it will go 60-40 in favor of whoever wins Game 2. Next game is really really crucial, LeBron will definitely go ham on us... If we can take this punch and come out with a 2-0 series lead, I don't see how we are not the slight favorites at that point.

That MIGHT be one of the MOST pessimistic outlooks I have seen in a while!!  Did you see the game yesterday?  You do know that the Cavs re-made their team at the trade deadline, right?  We win game 2, I would say that we have a 60 to 70% chance to get to the Finals!!

I don't think that's pessimistic, I think that's realistic. The fact is that Cleveland has the best player on the floor and a guy who is seen by many as superior to perhaps everyone in history but Jordan (though Russell is still my #1). We don't. We have Al "Lebron's my Daddy" Horford and a group of kids. While I'm very fond of this team youth rarely wins in the playoffs.

We got blown out - embarrassed - last year. I know that this is a different team and they are a different team. But that doesn't change the fact that Lebron & Co. have done this repeatedly and this team is very inexperienced and unproven. Its been proven to be resilient all year long but playoff basketball is different. If we're up 2-0 going to Cleveland then I'd feel really good about our chances. Splitting the opening 2 games and giving Cleveland the home court advantage? I'd agree with our chances of winning that series at about 20% because the last thing this team needs is Lebron during a game 7 where you just know (1) he's going to explode and (2) the refs are going to give him every call.

And frankly you're not very confident either. He says that if the Cs win we have a 50% chance of winning the series. Your own post says 60% (60-70%). That's not a big difference.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Not over yet. There are still games to be played.

We need to steal 1 or 2 at Quicken Loans Arena. That is a very hostile territory.

I didn't vote but did declare Celtics in 5.

Celtics take game 7 in a massive upset and beat Golden State to win the 2018 NBA Championship!!!   Yeah, baby!!!!!!!

Oh, ........against Cleveland........we took them in 5!

Next 2 games are actually decisive. If we make it 1/2 and come back to Boston with 3:1 lead I think the series doesn't go back to CLE anymore.
