  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
He made some bad trades and does not know how to do rotations. In the huddle how do people understand that crazy voice. I am so thankful for Brad. I can see coach Bud there now.

Will be interesting to see how the coach who replaces him deals with their two bigs
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

SVG was a decent coach back in his Orlando days with Dwight Howard and their 3-point threats.

Nowadays he's just a wash.

Terrible coach

I don't think he was a terrible coach, just look what he achieved with Orlando. I think if that team was in todays NBA they would be the best in the East by some margin and players like Turkoglu and Lewis would be worth gold.

I believe the downfall was SVG being a terrible GM and too confident in his abilities. He gave Jackson (a known lazy ****) a huge deal over an obviously talented Dinwiddie, picked Stanley Johnson over; Myles Turner, Booker, Winslow, Rozier, Oubre Jr. and the worst last year Kennard over Donovan Mitchell.

Gtan Van Sundy (The GM) was the end of Stan Van Gundy.
As per usual, with the dual role executives.

Too bad Thibs won't be relieved from the office duties before he hampers KATs offensive talent for years.

My prediction:

Blake gets traded to OKC for a package surrounding Melo, or just Melo.

Yikes, so DET in essence would have traded away Harris, Boban, Bradley + 2 picks for the $28M man, Carmelo? LOL.

Melo and his expiring contract anyway. That Griffin deal is massive

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

Don't forget Jameer Nelson and James Ennis (acquired for Reed and Johnson, respectively, who DET also received in the Blake deal)!

But, yeah, sometimes that is the price you pay to save ~140M (minus the $28M owed to Carmelo next season) in future salary obligations to a player that doesn't fit your roster.

Of course DET could always see what they could get for Drummond. He would certainly bring back a better package and it would allow Blake to move to Center full-time.

It will be interesting to see what direction DET chooses this offseason. They could tear everything down completely or try to make this grouping work by putting better shooters around them.
