I don’t know if he truly will be better than Hayward, but I hope he will be.

I think kyrie, Hayward and Horford match up great with Steph, klay and draymond.

We are lacking a Durant.  No pressure, Tatum... but if we have any hope of competing with that stacked team we are gonna need Tatum to make that leap.

Luckily it's not a 4-on-4 sport. Don't get me wrong, GS is still a cut above us until proven otherwise, but we're significantly better 5-10, when you consider our 5th best starter could be Jaylen Brown and theirs Pachulia.

Or the fearsome Javale McGee ;D

Stevens already is thinking how am i going to deal with

possibly having Hayward traded .   .....

Irving is too good and necessary ......he can drop 30-40 on GS to match Curry score .  Got to keep him.

Rozier and Hayward to the Spurs

Danny has to be cold blooded

You really need to get off this idea.

It’s not happening.

Irving, Hayward, and Horford will all be Celtics next season.
I could see us moving a package built around Brown, Rozier and Morris for Kawhi, but we'd need to include additional salary (Yabu, for instance).

Kyrie, Kawhi, Hayward, Tatum, Horford ... nasty lineup if the brittle boys can stay on the court.

Next season will be a challenge.  I can't imagine Tatum moving back to the bench after these playoffs, but the logjam is real.
I keep hearing this " back to the bench." didn't Tatum start all preseason and the first game with Hayward? Were gonna have a 5 all star lineup starting

He did.  But there's been a general concern that he's not a full-time 4.
Maybe Hayward can play some 4.  He's a big, strong dude.  Brown did it quite a bit last year but he's proven to be far better on the perimeter.

That's a starting lineup of 3 max contracts and Horford, who will likely still get big money. Plus JT, who is a future max guy. Pretty nasty

Both Tatum and Hayward started opening game this season together. What has happened that would change that?

You're more likely to see Hayward come off the bench than Tatum.  Who knows how healthy Hayward will be.  He might be on a minutes restriction.

Using Hayward's sophomore season playoff stats where he was the 3rd option (at best) on a team that got swept makes them look more comparable than they are.

His playoff run where he was an actual main option (like Tatum is for us) is crazy good: 24.1ppg, 6.1rpg, 3.4apg, 0.9spg on 44/41/93 shooting splits is crazy good. Especially considering the horribly slow pace of Utah's offence last year.

And I love Tatum. I have him virtually untouchable. But I think to say he's on Hayward's level is provably false.

That’s true, at least beginning of the year.

I personally prefer Tatum, no real emotional attachment towards Hayward

  • That's turrible
Tatum will definitely surpass Hayward within the next couple years.

As for trading....lol no way. Time to win titles. At the very worst, when Brown and Tatum have matured and gone into contract years, Hayward won’t be needed as much and walks in FA. But I’m also assuming nothing goes happens to Kyrie....

Luckily we have both!

I watched a lot of Utah last year because I love Joe Ingles, and ESPN AU/NZ does too, so I saw a lot of Hayward. Really love the way he plays, and think he will be absolutely amazing under Stevens

Thread is missing the point. Take it as the compliment to Tatum that it was. Not as the insult to Hayward that you think it is.
