I know it's early but if we must trade one of rosier or smart after the season i would take a look at Nick calathes... not good shooter but.. great leader will average more than 6 assists excellent defender... euroleague mvp this year for me

Didn't he already have one poor stint in the NBA a few years ago?

Yes in Memphis but the last two seasons he has been a different player. He took over Panathinaikos after Diamantidis retired and he has done very good. That was not an easy task mind you!

This season the euroleague MVP is between him and Doncic and both deserve it equaly ... Great season for  both of them.

His Euroleague statline is pretty good ....

Not the player for the NBA. It would be possibly the same exhibition as with Prigioni in NY.

Larkin has been great for us, especially in the playoffs.

Larkin is probably the best 3rd/4th string PG in the NBA. Problem is the injuries we've had
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Nick is much better than priggioni ever was... speed stamina defence creation... top level pg... full intensity the whole season ...

Yeah, he was wasn't very good in his NBA stint. And to top it off he ended up getting suspended for PED use (he blamed in on a hair re-growth product).

Hard pass. No thanks.

The problem is that I said something completely different.

I replied to iadera's comment placing Calathes to the same level as we almost 40y.o. Priggioni saying that today Calathes is better than the truly useful Larkin. Not that Larkin hasn't been great so far....

Calathes is a much better player than Priggioni was. But honestly don't think he's leaving PAO/Greece anytime soon. He's basically the de facto leader of PAO right now.

He's also much different player than Larkin. Calathes is much bigger in size (he's probably around 6'4) and is a brute on defense where he excels. He can def play defense/run the point but he's not a great outside shooter. Not sure he's really a fit unless they are looking for a cheap Smart replacement.

Not a good shooter is an understatement, he is a terrible shooter. Not good at free throw line either. This makes his other skills irrelevant at NBA.
