I'm happy he's a warrior.

I'm not happy he took the risk.

I'm happy they won the game.

I'm not happy if his offseason/career is affected.

I don’t love that. If he had tore the hamstring any further, we could be talking about him being out for the next round. It’s just a bad risk vs. reward decision, assuming we accept Jaylen’s account.

One thing I learned from that article: Brad Stevens is not a doctor:

Quote from: Brad Stevens
. "Again, the MRI or whatever scan he had shows there was no tear. ... It was a strain.

By definition, a strain is a tear. It might be a small tear, but it exists. Otherwise it wouldn’t be a strain.

Based on the article, it's hard to tell exactly what the doctor advised.

I would not have let him play.

Hat's off for the effort by Jaylan, but he and the C's need to think long term.

My random guess?

Doctor: You shouldn’t play. Don’t risk it.

Jaylen: I’m playing.

Doctor (to Stevens): I don’t recommend playing him, but if you do, no more than 25 minutes.

It’s the only way to reconcile both accounts.

That immediate gratification thing is that female dog.

Hope Jaylen (and the team, and the fans) don't get bit by it.

Maybe Brad was right.

Grade I strain. In this mild strain, only a few muscle fibers are stretched or torn. Although the injured muscle is tender and painful, it has normal strength.

The fibers could have been stretched only - and Brad said it was below a grade I strain.

Was there any news about how the hamstring was holding up after the game?

Unless he aggravated it, the risk should lessen going forward. I was surprised to see him play in Game 2, but Game 3 will be one week since the injury, and I am of the opinion that this was a very "light" strain that wouldn't actually require the two weeks that Jaylen claimed. I think a Game 3 or 4 return could have had him at 100%, so hopefully he didn't mess that up.

Didn't realize he actually said that. I called it a Grade 0.5 strain in another thread.

Surprised he played, and surprised what Jaylen said about playing against doc's advice.

Brad should control the situation better going forward. He's the coach, and decides who plays.  I agree that Jaylen should sit out game 3 unless docs give him green light to play. He is obviously trying to protect re-injury while playing, which speaks to its susceptibility.  Foolish to risk re-injury.

We nearly got blown out at home with Jaylen Brown.

Sit him if needed for Game 3.
