We can live with it. Look how good the young guys have become. And they’re all going to come back provided that there aren’t any trades, which I think Danny is done with. The Rozier thing will sort itself out, but wow this team will be stacked next year. Don’t rush Gordy, we need that firepower next year.

Yeah it sounds (from the slight shift in tone out of the Celtics organization, his wife’s posts about how hard he’s working, his silence and very rare “Player’s Tribune” posts which one might assume would ramp up if he were seeing progress) like he’s struggling. I worry about next year as well, but then i remember he still has like 9 months until we really need him. I feel bad for the guy.

If he needs to sit out like a month at the beginning of next year, then I'm fine with that. We have a team built to weather Hayward's absence early next season (especially if Kyrie and Theis come back healthy).

I think the lack of news is deliberate to avoid having this conversation during the playoff run the C's are on.

They kept the semi-regular updates to keep Gordon's profile up and because the Player's Tribune had a contract with him for content for at least this year.

He's progressing on schedule. They have always said he would be good to go for next season. He will be.
