No. I hate to say it, but we don't. Maybe we win one game, that's it :(

But first, lets focus on the Sixers. FAR FROM OVER.

actually if this current roster can take 2 games, i'll be highly optimistic, because that means we took 2 games without our 2 best players, makes me that much more excited for next season

I want the Cavs. I just don't like how the C's match up with Toronto. One other major reason is if Toronto beats them I think Lebron bolts somewhere (if it is the sixers or another east team that scares me a little).  If Cleveland happens to get by Toronto and eventually get to the finals I think there is a 95% chance Lebron stays in Cleveland who, even with those trades, may be pretty strapped next year to add any other pieces. Next years Cavs would get dismantled by the Celts easily as long as the Celts are healthy...
A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.

Of course we still have plenty to do in this series, but the long term potential of facing Cleveland (opposed to Toronto) is far greater.

It’s a win-win scenario for us because our guys get to take on an all-time great like LeBron and learn from that, win or lose. I think Brown learned a lot from our series last year, and we saw how improved he was this season. Would love to see Tatum get the same experience.

This team may actually be better equipped to take on LeBron than last season. Morris Defends LeBron well, Brown and Tatum can give him other matchup issues. Then you don’t have Kyrie to deal with, we didn’t have IT for that series and Rozier is much better than last season as well. Baynes is a much better defensive anchor than Amir. We are a much better rebounding team than last season.

Would be a fun series imo. I know people think the Cavs are amazeballs once again, but the truth is LeBron is just being LeBron against Toronto. They nearly lost to Indiana if not for a couple (expected) Herculean performances from James.

That said, we still have to go put in work in Philly and put a stranglehold on this series. Winning the first two may not have been expected by most, but all we did was hold serve. Time to go break them tomorrow. Simmons asking for us to get more physical with him? Sounds like a plan.

TP, great post.

By win I mean vs Toronto

It’s been like 8 years since we  last got past Lebron. I want to be able to vindicate all those times he beat us and beat him to mark the beginning of his decline. It would suck not to be able to take him down or not having the chance to face him in the final years of his prime.

Even with our current team, I feel we Have a solid chance against this Cavs team

I don't think it matters what we want because the brooms are out. The poor Raptors and their fanbase get no credit and why? Because they are scared and they now live in LeBronto.

Don't really care. I just want to win every game we play.
Amen.

I’d rather face Cleveland. I think Toronto is not a good matchup for us.

Although Im kinda afraid of the Cavs, I also truly believe that whoever wins the Philly/C's series will be  the team that will beat out Lebron.

The King has been playing like crazy this playoffs and has been averaging nearly 42 minutes per game as well..at somepoint his body is just gonna break down and with no Kyrie to bail him out, he will go down but it will be difficult though.

Against Philly, they will have no answer to Embiid and yes even Simmons will not be held to what he is pathetically doing now agianst the Cavs..they play no defense those Cavs and  theyd be exposed by the C's and Philly...and in the likely event the league helps them out and reach the finals, they'd be annihilated once again by the Warriors.

I agree there is a long way to go before you should really consider how great it is going to be to play the Cavs on a much more even playing field than last season in the East finals.

To explore the idea though, if the Celtics beat the Cavs or Toronto to go to the NBA finals I wonder if it would really be that great an experience for the young Celtics. There would be a real danger that GSW make the finals one of the most one sided ever (which could happen no matter who gets through from the East).

I know that to make the NBA finals would be a great experience for any player. I also know that next season it will almost be an expectation of the Celtics if they are fit and the off season trades don't produce another competitor in the East.

I think there is a good chance Stevens could steer them to the finals this season and the experience may be great for the younger players but I have a nagging feeling that it could also be a series you want to move on from quickly unless you are GSW.

I'd like this too but I don't want to even think about it until and if and when we beat Philly.

I expect the Cavs to beat the C's in 6 games, but wouldn't be all that surprised if this scrappy bunch pulled it out.  Boston, unlike Toronto, at least has some players that can slow James down and make him work defensively.

Problem with Toronto is that they're doing a very poor job on Love as well.
