Of course we still have plenty to do in this series, but the long term potential of facing Cleveland (opposed to Toronto) is far greater.
It’s a win-win scenario for us because our guys get to take on an all-time great like LeBron and learn from that, win or lose. I think Brown learned a lot from our series last year, and we saw how improved he was this season. Would love to see Tatum get the same experience.
This team may actually be better equipped to take on LeBron than last season. Morris Defends LeBron well, Brown and Tatum can give him other matchup issues. Then you don’t have Kyrie to deal with, we didn’t have IT for that series and Rozier is much better than last season as well. Baynes is a much better defensive anchor than Amir. We are a much better rebounding team than last season.
Would be a fun series imo. I know people think the Cavs are amazeballs once again, but the truth is LeBron is just being LeBron against Toronto. They nearly lost to Indiana if not for a couple (expected) Herculean performances from James.
That said, we still have to go put in work in Philly and put a stranglehold on this series. Winning the first two may not have been expected by most, but all we did was hold serve. Time to go break them tomorrow. Simmons asking for us to get more physical with him? Sounds like a plan.
