The Sixers can't defend.
Rozer and Tatum drove right through them.
The refs did everything they could to keep it close. The Celtics went 24 minutes without shooting a free throw.

Great game but 5 of 26 likely won't be seen again.

Give credit to 3 point line defense. Not just cold shooting.

They're one of the best defenses in the league.  Credit to the Celts, but their shooting was simply unsustainable.

Philly shot 35 free throws and Ainge had a right to be ticked. Officials officiated the score. I don't trust the officiating process.

Refs always try to keep the score close. The NBA sucks.

Bull pucky. The Sixers are slow footed and can't defend. It's easy to hit open threes.

Don't you bull pucky me.  In all seriousness though, they were statistically within this top 5 this season.  The Celts were really hot from 3 tonight and probably made them look much less effective than they are.

Redick, Saric, Bellinelli, etc...slow footed. Rozier and Tatum cut through them with ease.

Sure, they have weak links.  But they're generally very good, and you gotta take into account that Rozier went 7/9 from deep tonight.  Super impressive, but not sustainable.  I doubt jpotter could do that, and he hung 44 in a high school game.

Philly didn't show up to this game.  They will inevitably snap back and we need to be prepared for that.  They are an incredibly talented group.  Factors that could have contributed to tonight:

- 6 day layoff added a bit of rust
- Shook by facing a real playoff crowd after vacationing in Miami's empty arena
- Not prepared for Boston's level of defensive intensity
- They didn't anticipate Terry Rozier going off like he was Khris Middleton
- They celebrated their first playoff series win like they won a title - even drenching their coach in chocolate milk:  https://streamable.com/q472a ... these kids are still riding an emotional high and didn't have their gloves up when Boston came swinging for their teeth
- Vegas has them as the the favorites to win the Eastern Conference.  That means they are facing real expectations and pressure for the first time ever...

Love how Boston played tonight.  We exploited some real matchup weaknesses.  Hopefully Philly keeps sucking like this.   I wouldn't write them off yet... let's see how they respond.

Personally, I'm just glad Boston didn't get swept.  We had home court and were supposed to win Game 1.  Philly can easily take control of this series in Game 2 if we aren't careful.

Sustainable against a slow footed team. lol

Touche, lol.  I always found that to be ironically hilarious.  Bird was a character.

While I wouldn’t overreact to one game, I actually agree with Kenny and Chuck that there are reasons for Philly to be concerned.

First of all, they finished the season 27-5, mostly beating up stank/injured teams. Through their first 50 games, they were a .500 team. People want to anoint them, but they went on a nice run yet you’ll be hard-pressed to find more than a handful of good wins in their streak.

But back to tonight, we are not the Heat. This is an athletic team that plays defense and makes the extra pass. We make them work for their offense; we close out, we rotate, and we switch effectively. Offensively, we can shoot and we have guys that can put the ball on the floor and make the right play.

Horford can drag Embiid away from the basket and Rozier can make Simmons work on defense. Without both of them on the court, they have trouble facilitating.

They came out a little flat but they also got soundly outplayed in the second half too. I know people want to use rust as the reason, but if they fell behind early and just ran out of time makin it up, I’d buy that. We outplayed them for the majority of the game.

Horford on offense and Smart on defense are the keys here, and of course getting Brown back healthy.

CBS said he wasn’t impressed with our play tonight and he’s right. They didn’t play that well, but we didn’t either. We could improve in a lot of areas and get back a very versatile, athletic two-way wing.

Speaking of slow footed, who was saying reddick was very good defensively earlier? That didn't age wel
