Stevens said Jaylen Brown tested well today and could play in the series #Celtics  #76ers

"Could play in the series" aren't exactly encouraging words.  Doubtful for tomorrow & who knows about Thursday.

Not good news.

If I were Brad, that is what I would say too, regardless if Jaylen was going to play or not.

Sure.  But as a fan, that doesn't exactly come across as reassuring.

I am grasping at straws...completely lol I know

#NEBHInjuryReport: Brad Stevens says Jaylen Brown “still has some soreness” in his hamstring and is doubtful for tomorrow’s Game 1. However, testing results “looked good” and Brown could play early in the series.

Given the nature of hammie injuries and what happened to AB a couple of years back in the playoffs, I think this is very encouraging news, even if he doesn't play in game 1.

Ya i read this as hes out game one but will likely play game 2 or 3 at the latest. Thats make sense considering the 72 hours between games 1 and 2.

Considering there's 2 days off between Game 1 (Monday) and Game 2 (Thursday), if I'm the C's, I play it cautious and sit Jaylen for Game 1. It sucks, but honestly I think overall we dodged a bullet as most have alluded to here, and there's still a chance we get Jaylen from Game 2 onwards (at 70% health or better).

Unfortunately it might mean losing Game 1 as a result, but in the long run it's the wise move.

But hey, the C's have surprised me all year long and so if they win Game 1 on Monday W/O Brown, that would just be something else! But it will take herculean efforts again from guys like Horford, Rozier again I believe to be honest. (And Tatum, Morris - basically can't have too many guys struggling)

If he is medically cleared and feeling good, play him. If not, don't play him. Its really just that simple.

Yup.

Yeah. I'm not even sure why this is a conversation.

We are without Gordon, Kyrie, Theis (am i forgetting anyone??)
We are not winning a championship this year.  With all our injuries I'm amazed we made it to the second round beating the bucks.  Much like Kyrie shutting down, if there is a chance of prolonged injury to brown next year then it isn't worth it.  With our make shift team/next man up we are not winning it all this year much less making the finals.
The whole season is a positive plus with the injuries we've sustained.

Not sure I follow...

If he’s healthy play him.

If he’s not, sit game 1.

Doesn’t seem very complicated to me.

He should be shut down if there's even a moderate risk of worsening the injury.

Basically. I'd want to get an adamant all-clear before risking further damage

If he's cleared by the doctors I think he should still sit out game 1.  Its game 1 in Boston.  We can and should win that game without Brown.  If it was  game 7 I might feel differently.  Put Al on Simmons and Baynes on Embiid.  Smart takes Brown's man.  We'll be fine.

I personally hope they are conservative in clearing him if he's impaired at all.

I just want to cover the entire team in bubble-wrap after the season we've had....

Jaylen has been ruled out so he sits game 1. Not sure he'll heal by game 2 but he has the power of youth-healing-faster on his side. It worked for me when I was that age. Now it takes me 5 times longer to get better from minor shet. We still have a chance though, that's for sure. I just don't want Marcus Smart to try and score more. He's just not looking good shooting the ball, worse than usual.
If Philly wins the series then the rivalry is back on for the next few years. Let them not forget they would have done so without our 2 (likely) top scorers and Brown hurting.
