I get why Perk wants this, I am less clear why Cleveland does this.  Is this as a cheerleader role?  Dedicated tough guy to come in and lay down a beating on someone?   I love perk,  but he seems pretty done athletically at this point.

Has to be some reason for the Cavs to do this...I guess it is filed under 'veteran cheerleader, um  I mean leadership'?

Jeff Green is still a very useful player.  Perk, umm not so much.

This was a move coming for like a month.  The Cavs just waited in case someone else came along that could provide a little more on court ability.  Perk had been playing for the Canton Charge all season, serving as a mentor role.  I suspect that is what the Cavs want him for in the playoffs.  A guy with some championship experience who can provide a calming influence for the bench, who in a pinch you can put out there and who won't crack under the pressure.
