I had to ask myself a few times during the game, who is this Bird kid?  LOL.  He showed up for sure last night.  Might need a few more games like that to earn a more permanent spot.  But he's doing all the right things so far!

got big praise from Tommy and CBS post-game.

Physically and mentally mature (23 years old and a 4 year college player). Tough minded. CBS was impressed with both his D and his rebounding in pre-season games and practices, lauding his ability to cover shooters cutting. He did a pretty good job on Reddick tonight. And CBS characterized him as "not being afraid".

Jaylen probably had influence with DA and CBS in drafting him, so he already has chemistry with at least one key player on the team, which also helps.

AND, he can shoot the 3 with that sweet stroke!!

If he comes along (and CBS' praise of his D means he will get more time), maybe that means that we can focus on a big with the DPE as opposed to a wing who can shoot.

Let's not forget he just had a good game against basically a G League quality opponent. Its not like he played a great game against a playoff team. That Chicago lineup was a joke.

Jaylen is a very positive person and at 21 is already a leader.

He is, and learning from CBS to always speak positively about other players.

Tonight in the Postgame, he was pumping the new guy, Gibson, as well as Bird again.

He said Bird lives with him and that they study film together, and that Bird is ready now. I get that he’s biased, but I agree with him.

Jaylen also said that he has learned a lot from Bird, especially regarding cutting and moving without the ball.
