He's having another one.  The first one removed the wire.  The next one will remove the screws.

Yeah, apparently they caused a bacterial infection.

My guess is he comes back around Christmas. Can’t see him being rushed nor being in basketball shape.

Opening night lineup?

ROZIER
BROWN
HAYWARD
TATUM
AL

BENCH
MORRIS
THEIS
SMART
2017 Draft pick
SEMI
??

Luckily, Kyrie's game doesn't rely heavily on athleticism and his all world ball wizardry will be unaffected.

Well, that's a bit of a gut punch.

But the good news is the doctors are maintaining the knee is structurally fine. Stupid bacterial infections.

It's 4-5 months.  Being in the opening night lineup wouldn't be a rush job.

Yeah, some people are overreacting or not appreciating this fact. This is not a acl surgery or anything, he won’t lose athleticism or be out until December, he will be fine. It just sucks for this years playoffs

Or it might be on target.  '17-18 NBA opener wasn't until Oct. 17th.

Christmas-ish?  C'mon.....  ::)

Yeah, they have to amputate, it was flesh eating bacteria, so December sounds about right

So it'll just grow back, then?  Right as rain in a few months...

Then better flip him for Kawhi Leonard while you still got the chance!

So how do we feel about trading BKN 2018 for Kyrie Irving because of Isaiah Thomas's injury concerns?
