Is LeBron ever happy? How much help does LeBron need?

Lol wow dude.  They lost the trade and their team isn't good enough to really contend so I'd say everything he said is right on.  I love you guys who still have these awful LeBron takes with zero logic in 2018.  Get over it already.

Not to interrupt a good pileon but everything in that OP sounds pretty reasonable - IT's injury was a problem, the Cavs had lots of leverage on us, and didn't really do much with it.  They were never gonna get Tatum or Brown out of it without at least giving back the pick, but they probably could've gotten more out of it, and keeping Kyrie seems like it would've been smart too.

What LeBron seems to underrate/not care about is the Brooklyn pick, which was the main incentive for Cleveland's front office. But in terms of oncourt talent this year, his read seems to have held up very well with time.

Really? I didn't like how WE had to give up an extra 2nd rounder in addition to all that we did in that trade (which, on paper back in August, was a ton).  >:(

Yet, everybody was jumping and screaming that the Cavs won the trade by a landslide and would be closer to GSW with an All NBA point guard and a 3 and D stud in Crowder plus a top pick from BKN....
The Cavs alienated Kyrie by trying to trade him for Paul George / Eric Bledsoe...
They were all happy and excited on Media Day thinking they did extremely well... Then the reality of the field comes in and they start passing the blame to each other...
Lebron had a chance to reach out to Kyrie and fix whatever issue was there and he didn't!

The implication in the article is that because Lebron was upset by the trade, he gave IT the cold shoulder.

There are other anecdotes in there, too, like Lebron not acknowledging IT when IT tried to celebrate Lebron’s game winner. For such a great player, it’s amazing how much of a baby Lebron can be.
come on Roy, the not celebrating with IT was the Minnesota game the day before the trade when James already knew a trade was coming.  To somehow imply that somehow speaks to their relationship is silly.  Had James celebrated when he knew IT was a goner he would have gotten killed by the media and fans for being a phoney.

So you don’t even acknowledge somebody?

What about when he refused to play offense when IT had the ball?

Or, carrying a grudge about the trade that spilled over to include the players themselves?

TP Roy. Absolving James for his behavior this year is absurd. He has not been a leader in any shape or form.

I totally get hating teammates.  It happens at all levels of sports. But, you can’t carry those grudges on to the floor. Part of being a leader is sucking it up.  Ever since leaving for Miami Lebron has had everything a player can realistically ask for, and yet he’s constantly griping. Last year he gripes about needing a backup PG. This year, IT became the scapegoat.

At what point does he lead? I’ve seen him achieve great things, and he can carry a team on the floor like very few in history can. But, when things go sideways on him, he too often quits or casts blame.
Do you think making the effort to get to know IT means he carried a grudge against him?  I mean by all accounts, including the ones in the article, James made an effort to try to get to know IT and to try to fit their games together.  That all seemed to end when IT started yapping about everything.  I mean IT was the one with quotes in the media every other day where he was calling out teammates, about how great he was and the contract he deserved, about how the coaches don't adapt, about the lack of defensive intensity (I mean think about the hilarity of IT calling out teammates for defense when even if he was healthy he is a terrible defender and he wasn't healthy).  IT caused the rift in that locker-room and got himself traded as a result of his mouth.
Moranis, too much of LeBron porridge is bad for your health.
IT felt disrespected (for a good reason) and then he trolled the Cleveland's team.
As a true Celtic should, I'll add.
He also watched Crowders back. And Jae felt the same.

If I'm not mistaken crowder had some negative words on getting out of Cleveland too.
He did when he left Boston as well (and even before he left Boston).

Wait so just to get this all in one place. The cavs were mediocre all season and your talking point was that you expected IT to return to all star form and take the Cavs to the next level. IT returns and they are still bad and you say he needs more time. They keep playing horrible. IT is traded out along with crowder and Wade and all start playing a bit better on their new teams. The cavs win 2 games in a row and you crow about the cavs eastern conference odds (side note raptor officially favorites to win east from sportsbook right now). Cavs continue to sputter and you say Kevin love is going to return and average 23-12 (numbers nobody in the NBA is currently averaging). When you see it all laid out likes this can you see how the everything is golden in Cleveland routine is a bit thin for a 4th place team coming off two blowouts?

Edit: I almost forget you said you thought Cleveland had a real good shot catching the Celtics in the standings and would go 22-6 after they made they made the trades
I never said that and that certainly wasn't me who had the Cavs at 22-6.  I mean if you are going to stalk me, at least get your facts straight.

It's not stalking man. You are the only person on the board that is pumping everything working out  for Lebron and the cavs on every thread. Also interesting way to dismiss the rest of my post.
I edited it, but it still doesn't change the point that I never came close to projecting the Cavs at 22-6 or catching Boston for 2.

Moranis you said this: Looking at the schedule I figure [Boston] 14 wins and 10 losses, so I'd say 54-28.  A couple of losses in either direction wouldn't be all that surprising.

I can actually see the Cavs going 22-5.  I don't think they will, but their schedule is pretty weak.  They have 13 road games and one long road streak, but the only teams with winning records they play on the road are OKC, Denver, Portland, Miami, LAC, and Philly (not exactly a whose who).  At home they have Toronto and Washington twice each, Milwaukee, San Antonio, Philly, and New Orleans.  I can absolutely see them winning the vast majority of those games as well as all of their other games.  That said, while 22-5 is possible, I think they are much more likely to go 18-9, which puts them at 51-31."

So you I guess you didn't project it, but you said you "could actually see" them going 22-5. My overall point is that you are just constantly bullish on Cleveland no matter what is happening with them (and usually quite negative about the Celtics). Also not surprisingly the Cavs have done worse than you expected and the Celtics better.

Is the season over?  Hard to say Cleveland is worse and Boston is better when there are a lot of games left.  That said, I don't think Cleveland hits 51 anymore, I think 49 or 50 is more likely, though if they continue to miss half their rotation that record will get worse and they could easily fall to 46 or 47.  I still think Boston finishes 54-28, as they still have 9 very difficult games, so losing 7 of those seems pretty reasonable to me.

Since you said you "could see" them going 22-5 it looks like they have gone 5-6.... with two games left against the Raptors to go along with the Bucks, @Blazers, Washington, @philly, @miami and against the pelicans you may just want to take the L on this one and move on to the playoffs.....

Yup LeMe just didn't like IT and froze him out from the outset.  IT never got a fair shake in Cleveland.  When healthy he is still an offensive weapon.  Don't know if the Lakers will give IT a fair shot either, but what else can they do?
