Jaylen Brown's Recent Growth

I'll be disappointed to watch the game tonight without Jaylen in the lineup. He's, in my opinion, one of the keys to championship hopes for this team. I think Tatum's future is more certain: he'll be an allstar but is unlikely to be a "transcendent" player given his solid but unspectacular athleticism. But if Brown continues to improve, he has the potential to be a defensive stopper and a top scorer. If that happens I think one additional key acquisition puts this team over the top.

In my estimation, Brown does not seem to be a natural to be great. He lacks a high bbiq and isn't a natural scorer. I get that. But his rate of improvement (with free throw shooting being the latest example) and work ethic give him a chance to be really very good on both ends of the floor. He has grown substantially as a defender, passer, finisher, and shooterthis year. He needs to continue to improve, add a pick and roll game and he'll be lethal. Given his maturity and desire, he has a chance. I find it very intriguing to watch and will miss another chance to assess tonight.

He still needs to tighten up his handle but he’s already a lot to handle at the 2 guard. Strong in the post, deadly in the corners. He can’t break down guys like Tatum but he can overpower most guards. JB is going to be a beast in this league! I feel like he’s already come a long way since the start of the season

His shooting stroke from 3 is textbook.

Still get nervous when he’s at the foul line. Hope he can clean that up in off season.

What I liked was hearing Doris Whatsherface report in Game 5 in Philly series that Brown was imploring the team to keep attacking and they'd crack.  He then went back out there kept attacking the hoop.  Philly never wilted (until the last minute maybe), but I like that he took a leadership role and went and led by example.  He has really stepped up his play again.  Not to mention how much resolve he showed in playing through the bad hamstring.

At th start of the season I said that Brown needs to work on 2 things to get to the new level. Finishing around the rim and foul shooting. He has drastically improved his finishing already. Once he gets his foul shots to 80%+, he’s a player with no observable flaws. I think he can be an all star player very soon.

I'll take that free throw weakness in exchange for the 3 pt range. Players with his 3 pt stroke don't grow on trees.

If he learns the Jordan move of postin up with that shake n bake fade away swiish.. Then its over.

That move of MJ was almost unguardable and was an automatic 2 points.. Became his bread n butter play.. That move also was the move Kobe mastered and he became a HOF player.

Learn from the master JB.. Oh and by the way. Brown would increase his ppg by at least 5 points if he gets up to 80%on his FTs.
