Since the All-star break, the Celtics have look like a completely rejuvenated team.
They have put up point totals of 110, 121, 109, and 134 and have won 4 straight games to boot.  The math says that's an average point total of 118.5.  If the Celtics continued that pace, and yes I know they won't, that would make them the #1 scoring team in the NBA.

So it looks like Boston is ascending at just the right time.  If they continue this form at least for the month of March they are a real threat to take home the #1 seed, and avoid a second round pairing with Cleveland, which makes them that much more likely to make it to the Conference Finals.

So call it as you see it folks, what seed will Boston finish at in the Eastern Conference?

2nd because Toronto has been a better basketball team than us for the vast majority of the season. They also have an easier schedule down the stretch(I think).

It will be very close tho and will come down to the wire; we play Toronto twice in the last 12 days of the season. That will be our chance to catch them.

They won't make the playoffs.

Now that the Lakers Pick likely won't convey, the C's will tank for that Top-10 draft pick!  :laugh:

With convincing wins over the Knicks, Grizzlies, and now Hornets... the sky is the limit.  Super Bowl or bust.

The rest of Toronto's schedule:

Quote
@WAS
CHA
ATL
DET
HOU
@NYK
@BKN
@IND
DAL
OKC
@ORL
@CLE
BKN
LAC
DEN
@BOS
@CLE
BOS
IND
ORL
DET
MIA

Bolded part are the most challenging part of their schedule. I don't think they have easier schedule as we do. Aside from them and Houston, Celtic's schedule is pretty easy for the rest of the season.

This is tankathon's rankings for toughest remaining schedules. Take it FWIW.

BTW there's no way anyone in the east is catching up to Boston or Toronto pending on any more bad injuries. Those two have separated themselves from the pack.

I think they’re making the effort to get back the top seed. No reason to go through both Cleveland and Toronto, but Is Cleveland a lock at 3? They don’t look so hot again.

The top spot is gonna come down to those two games against each other, if either team sweeps, race is probably over.

Although after last season’s crazy ending (after getting blown out by Cleveland), who knows...

I personally don't care much for that no.1. I rather we remain focused on raising our form towards playoffs and all possible matchups on our road to the finals. I want to see Kyrie knocking down the Cavs more than anything, in 1st, 2nd or any round of the playoffs.

TP for the link.

IOW, there is basically no difference in the schedules for TOR and BOS. I'd clearly prefer to have TOR to have to face CLE in the second round.

I am of the opinion that come playoff time, the Cavs will be tougher than the Raps.  Still, being 1 seed would give us home court no matter who we play so I think it is important both in terms of an indication that we are playing well and in terms of seeding.  If we are the 1 seed, we won't need to beat both CLE and TOR.  If we are the 2 seed, we likely have to beat both (as others have noted).  I think there is something to getting the 1 seed.

Cleveland isn't a lock for 3, but I'd be pretty surprised if they weren't the 3 seed as they have a much easier schedule than Washington (and Indiana, though I don't think they have any real chance at 3).

They've also given up 104.5 points, on average. More importantly, they played four sub-.500 teams. I wouldn't overly excited here.

Winning games by an average of 14 points is a good thing last I checked.
