Rozier.

He can dribble, something AB can't. Rozier can also create his own offense while AB cannot.

I like AB but Rozier is younger, better contract, and has higher ceiling.

The difference for me is that Scary Terry has shown growth in every one of his seasons. AB plateaued last year, and this year either regressed (which is unfair to say because of injury) or didn't play well due to injury (which is unfair to say to Brad Stevens and his system because every other guy who has left in the last 3 years has looked significantly less effective on his new teams*).

So I guess I like Terry now, but I think he still could be better next year. AB will not be better next year than he was last year.


* Seriously, I understand IT is the ultimate example and non-qualified example of this (in that the fear is he was way more of a 'system guy' than people knew but the injury just makes definitive judgements impossible), but Kelly Olynyk, Evan Turner, Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson, the list goes on. The only true outlier of a guy Brad just couldn't seem to get the most out of was Gerald Green,

Huge AB Fan... Loved loved loved him as a Celtic...  He had a bunch of really special moments here But he is definitely at his ceiling and like others have said, the man does breaks down quite a bit...

Rozier is younger, steadily improving and with his quickness and ability to create his own shot he is perfect for what we are right now..   He is still improving.. It's actually a little scary how much better he still can get.

No brainer for me, TR, because of his ball handling, his ability to make big shots at the end of quarters (uncanny) and because I feel he will continue to improve over the next 2 seasons, while AB will not. Any I loved AB while he was here.

I though of it as, we have Terry on the roster at the start of 2018/19 year and would I flip him for Avery. I wouldn't consider ABs salary for this purpose. Although there is a chance he will be an MLE player next year.

I would say Kelly is having a season for Miami every bit as good as the four that came before it.

But then again, he's the only one of those mentioned above that went straight to another team with an elite coach.

Contracts being equal? I’ll take AB.

Not the most popular choice but AB is a great guard defender, a great spot up shooter and moves well off the ball. I will miss Rozier’s ability to make difficult shots and speed in the fast break.

I was the unofficial president of the mythical Avery Bradley fan club but I'm the current unofficial president of the mythical Terry Rozier fan club.

I enjoyed the time AB had here but he's not here anymore so now I'm enjoying what Troz3 brings to this team. Maybe I'm a lamer but it felt really good rooting for AB early in his career and seeing his confidence grow as he realized he belonged in this league. I'm getting the same feeling from Terry this year just seeing it in his body language and it carrying over to his play is pretty [dang] awesome (to me anyways).

Just like Bradley, I think Ainge goes for value.  Ainge could easily get another stellar season from Rozier.  Across the board, we'd see new improvements because he has the drive of a stellar player.  He's exactly the type of guy Auerbach used to load up his bench squads.  But even those guys didn't remain for long.  When a player grows out of a role and becomes more valuable than the minutes he plays, it should be an easy decision.
