Avery Bradley is also now eligible to be traded to Boston. The Celtics are not considered the last team he played for (see Andrew Bogut last trade deadline).

I think Detroit got bent over, personally.  I'm not convinced that the Pistons are any better now than they were this morning, but now they have a gigantic contract that will limit their options going forward. Meanwhile, the Clippers just unloaded their biggest long-term commitment in exchange for a decent pick and a couple of players who could either help them gun for a playoff berth or be swapped for more future assets.  A good reset move.

One other benefit of this deal is AB not going to Cleveland. He wouldn’t turn their D around himself, but he’d put a lot of pressure on Kyrie defensively with nowhere near the offensive help that Kyrie had last year in Cleveland.

This was the 1st thing I thought about.  No AB to cleveland YEAH!

I like this trade for the Clippers, I don't like it as much for Detroit.

Trading away Blake Griffin was reportedly the beginning of a larger plan for the Los Angeles Clippers.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the organization plans to target LeBron James this offseason and believes it will be on his shortlist.

DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams are also expected to be moved to help clear space.

This all comes after Griffin was traded to the Detroit Pistons Monday, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Griffin had just signed a five-year deal in the offseason worth $173 million. With more than $30 million owed over the next three years, plus a player option in 2021-22, the chances of landing another top free agent weren't great.
