Well, it sucks that he’s out two weeks, especially with the games we got coming up. However, at this point all he’s doing is costing himself money and ensuring that he stays here on the cheap. He very well could be playing on the QO in Boston next year.

What’s hilarious, though, is that this apparently happened one year to the day after he punched the hole in Washington’s locker room wall lol

I wonder if some sort of suspension will also be given from the Cs and/or league?

Why do you say that? It happened at a hotel nowhere near NBA premises, no one besides Smart got hurt, and other than Smart coming out about the injury despite the obvious apparent damage to the hands, no one else would've really known about it.

If Ainge or Stevens suspends Smart, I'll be sorely disappointed.

If he is on video smoking weed is one reason. The other reason from the Cs is doing something stupid which hurts the team. I am a HUGE Smart fan so I obviously do not want this but if you are on a social media site smoking weed I think that could be grounds.

Isn't that ironic? Lol.

And while the smashing the glass frame shouldn't be reprimanded, but I believe the Celtics will give a stern lecture to Smart about controlling his emotions. I could honestly see him suspended for 2-3 days just to teach him a lesson. As for smoking weed on instagram... Can you honestly charge someone with marijuana offense through a video? I haven't really seen something like that happen.

The area that I live in, NOVA/DC most of the marijuana in DC is now legalized, it is still an federal offense. Plenty of people like Trapwoods, District Dabbers, etc; all spark up and get absolutely high as heck on IG.

Well he said it was hitting a picture on a wall himself openly now, so we know:

@smart_MS3

I want to take this time to express my sincerest apologies to my teammates, coaches, and most of all the amazing Boston Celtics fans. I'm embarrassed and disappointed in my actions. I swiped at and hit a picture frame on the wall. I feel like I let all y'all down

@smart_MS3

I promise I will learn from this situation and come back better than ever. I love y'all and I truly appreciate all the support

EDIT: Celtics also officially say he is out 2 weeks

It's a good thing he'll come back better than ever because he's the worst shooter in the league and apparently a head case.
I'm so glad he loves us all too. Not many players say that. I was wondering how he felt about us and now we know.

I remember the story of a former Red Sox pitcher that claimed he severely cut his hand by falling out of bed while asleep onto a glass. Had to look his name up...Paxton Crawford.

It apparently worked for OJ, though.

Yeah I am with you, I think all this is him hurting his own value a little bit more.  I think we can all admit what he did was dumb.  Absolutely.

But was it bad enough to ensure he is getting shipped out? haha not at all.  When GH comes back next year and our roster is improved we won't be relying on Smart as much.  At that point if we can resign him on a decent deal he becomes a great 6th-8th best player on the team.

Worked for Paxton too, as that’s not what happened.

Considering marijuana is against the NBA's policy, it wouldn't be outrageous if they suspend him.

It'll be interesting to see how well they play without Smart, leaning more on Rozier, Brown, and Larkin.

We might find we can still win without him.

Found this:

Together with his family for the holidays, Marcus received that gift. But on Jan. 9, 2004, Marcus' aunt called him and his cousin inside from playing, asked them to sit down and tearfully delivered the news everyone feared: Todd was dying. The family was at the hospital. Marcus stared at her, gazing at her face, thinking he was dreaming.

Not excusing his behavior, but the timing MAKES SENSE!!!!  He is still grieving.  Get him to a grief counselor and fast!!

Smart smoking weed is a non issue. The only issue here is him Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ing up his hand.

I look for a Rozier to step up big in his place. He’s been playing well lately and he can be a force on both ends.

Sucks that Smart was stupid, but time for Rozier (and Larkin) to step up.

It is an issue if he gets a suspension for doing so. Some people would lose their job for breaking the rules (smoking weed). At least we know that won't happen to a professional sports player BUT if it generates a suspension then it does matter.
