Watching the game tonight I remember how people ( me) were comparing Wiggins to Jeff green when he first came out.
He still looks a lot like Jeff green to me. Not an ounce of fire out there.
Loved it when Tatum went by him late for a key dunk. Looking to me like Tatum will be the better player although he was way less heralded coming into the league. So glad we got him! 😄😄

I texted my Timberwolves buddy that exact same thing.

Wiggins' motor always seems questionable even before he came to the league. Smart always seems to eat his lunch too.

Danny prob would have been thrilled if they drafted Wiggins, and I'm sure he's thrilled that he got Tatum.

It's hard for the Celtics haters to take Wiggins over Tatum. It appears that Tatum is a best shooter and offensive player. I think Wiggins might have more lateral quickness on D.

I love how Tatum extends his arms to get shots off. He's plays longer than I thought.

The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Tatum is already light years better than Wiggins defensively. Wiggins really is clueless on that end.

Same with Towns.

Tatum is easily a better defender already. Wiggins is one of the worst defenders in the entire league.

Sad to say, but Wiggins in his 4th year might not even be starter quality, let alone a star. They really blew it giving that deal to a guy who's a mediocre shooter, a defensive liability, and has a lousy motor. Talented sure, but a total burden at that price.

Towns has actually been much better on D lately.

I had Wiggins on fantasy team for 2 seasons. I won't say he is like Jeff Green, on account of the fact he scores a lot more. His game is much more one dimensional than Jayson Tatum, who seems to affect games from a wider number of areas, even if he doesn't quite get as many PPG.

No question about it.

Wiggins was always expected to be a good scorer, but what has dissapointed me is that he's never really developed into an average or better player in any other area.  His rebounding, passing, defense were were all pretty hyped in college, and yet he's proving to be average/below average in all of those areas.

Tatum IMHO is alread a better defender and rebounder then Wiggins, and he's probably a batter scorer then Wiggins was as a rookie too.  Remember Wiggins was the #1 option as a rookie and still only averaged 17 PPG on very poor efficiency, while Tatum is averaging 14 PPG as a #2-#4 option on the Celtics as ridiculously high efficiency. I've got no doubts that if Tatum was more aggressive / forceful and was playing on a bad team (as Wiggins was as a rookie) he'd easily be averaging 17-19 PPG as a rookie.

Funny thing is, EVERYBODY was raving about that draft class - and Danny Ainge was probably the one and only guy who came out and said that the draft class was pretty average, and that he didn't think that there was a single "transcendent" player in that draft.

Boy, did he nail it with that analysis.  Wiggins and Parker are both solid, but nowhere near as good as people hailed them to be.  Gordon has developed into a better player then I expected, but still nothing special.  Embiid is without a doubt the most talented player in the draft, but who knows if he'll ever truly be healthy enough to dominate the way he has the potential to.

Okay so no one here would trade Tatum for Wiggins.

But would you trade Brown for Wiggins? Have to think about it right?

And, would you trade Tatum for Towns?  Ask me at the start of the season, I’d say of course. Now, I’m not sure.

Absolutely.  I was so wrong about Tatum.  Of course I didnt get that he was basically 7 feet.  Imagine if he was actually athletic.
