So I read that if you use DPE for a player you can tade that player within a three way deal so you can take on more salary and not have to wait 60 days. I didn't check if they could also get a player under longer contract though. So I looked at teams that are likely out of the playoffs and could save $.
C's trade DPE for Carter saving Kings $7 million.
C's then trade Carter to Jazz for Favors saving Jazz $4 million.
Again these teams are out of it and players are all expiring so it's saving them money is why they do the deals.
Two questions.
1. Is this possible with cap and trade rules?
2. Would adding Favors in this way be a great use of the DPE?
