I’d love him on the C’s. Just don’t see how we could possibly do it.

We really have a roster full of high upside/low salary, bargain contracts, and all-star talent.

Trading any of them does’t make us better, especially for a 32-year-old.

The “easiest” way to make this happen is to use the full TPE soon, then trade that player later. TPE player + Morris + Rozier + Yabu + Nader could bring back Gasol, I think

Isn't that package too much for a 32-year-old player? Obviously depends on how high you rate Rozier but still.

You’d be trading a pretty good rotation player, a mediocre prospect, and filler.
Seems like you're missing Morris in that equation unless you are categorizing Morris as the 'pretty good rotation player', Rozier as the 'mediocre prospect' and Yabu+Nader as 'filler'. I would definitely give up Rozier (or Morris) + Yabu + Nader for Gasol, but I think it's a bit too much to give up both Rozier and Morris for a guy that is 32-years-old.
32 years old and still one of the best centers in basketball.  Lebron is 32 and an expiring contract and you are telling me you wouldn't give up that package for him?
Come on. Gasol can't be compared to LeBron.

That trade would - from a scoring perspective - worsen our bench a lot, which is why I'm not overly thrilled about giving up both Rozier and Morris, who arguably are our best offensive weapons off the bench.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

I like Gasol but not at the cost of any our better players.

Just no room for Gasol.

I think the Exception will be used between Feb 8th (Trade Deadline) and March 10th (Injured Player Exception Deadline).

Gasol is one of the best centers in basketball and you are worried about giving up some bench scoring because he is 32.  That is just silly nonsense.  He is averaging 19/9/4 and is a credible outside shooter and an excellent shot blocker.  He would give Boston a much better chance at beating Cleveland and the Western team in the playoffs.  He is that good.  But hey let's not trade a rotation player and a couple of young players that probably won't ever be very good.

Marc Gasol, with his build, style of play and genetics (see Pau) is likely to continue to be one of the top centers in this league for 3-5 more seasons.  And I think he and Horford would be tremendous together.   Marc Gasol is as big as Baynes and does all the things he does plus he's an absolutely brilliant passer, almost as good as Horford, and like Al can shoot from all over the court.

Those two, plus Hayward, Jaylen, Jayson and Kyrie as your top 6 players?  Oh my god.

I would have no qualms about giving up a pretty hefty package for Marc Gasol.

Okay.  I pinched myself and the fantasy is over.  'Will never happen.  Sigh ...

Gasol, BWright for Hayward, picks, and whatever(maybe Theis).  Would have to wait til Dec 14.

C's wouldn't do it to Gordon, but if Memphis is gonna tank, it would be a great opportunity!

I love Marc Gasol, but we can't trade Hayward.

Agree.....thats super cold .....and we thought  IT was mad ...LOL.....Hayward changes his whole life and dream for 5 minutes as a Celtic .   ....Dang

Gasol's still good, but I figure he can't have many solid years left, as he'll turn 33 in January. If Danny could get him for peanuts, sure; if acquiring him this season would guarantee a title this season, sure; but both of those are unlikely.

Marc Gasol's brother is 37 this year and is still playing at an all-star level (his current WS/48 rate is a fantastic .195!!!).    Pau posted Win Share totals of 10.4, 7.1 & 6.4 the last three seasons and is on pace to post 8 WS this year.

Genetics favor that Marc Gasol, barring some freak injury (which as we know, can happen at any age to anybody (see Hayward, Gordon)) should age very gracefully.

Like his brother, he has a game style that should age very well.

His current contract only puts him under control for one more year after this one and only commits the team for one more after that (his age 34-35 season).

Not the most credible source, but still, the magnitude of a potential move is worthy of discussion.

Among the teams that could make a move for Marc Gasol are Toronto, Cleveland, Boston, and Portland. (...) Industry sources tell me that the Raptors are open to moving center Jonas Valanciunas and have young players the Griz might be interested in pursuing, including Jakob Poeltl and Lucas Nogueira. Gasol would be a marked upgrade for a “now” team that needs to get to a finals with core stars DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry.

Lowry - DeRozan - Anunoby/Powell/CJMiles - Ibaka - Gasol would be a fun team to watch, that's for sure.

Hope the Cavs don't get him. If they do, he is a huge upgrade over Tristan Thompson.
Thomas - JR/Wade/Shumpert - LeBron - Love - Gasol

Not sure what the C's could give for Gasol. Not to mention, he is probably a bad fit for us cause we already have Horford.

Why would you think Gasol would be a bad fit with Horford?  Horford would move to the 4, where he is best at anyway.

I still don't believe he'll be traded, but I think Gasol would be perfect in our system.

I don't know about Jvalin, but I don't think Horford can consistently guard opposing PF's.  Offensively they would be great together, I just worry about the defense.

This. Imo Horford can no longer play the 4. Too slow to defend stretch 4s on the perimeter. At this stage of his career he can only play the 5. If we trade for Gasol, Horford will have to play out of position.

How would The Celtics match salaries to get Gasol? I can't see a path that makes sense.
