I think he is pretty safe, barring a Godfather offer that we can't refuse.

Which would make him not untradeable.

Curry, Durant, Lebron, Embiid, Kawhi, AD, Cousins, Harden, Giannis.  Maybe Porzingis, Jokic or Simmons.  There's an awful lot of players I'd consider trading him for.

I think you'd have to trade a top-5-potential player for an actual top 5 (maybe even top 10) player -- regardless of age as long as there are multiple years remaining on the player's contract (i.e., not a rental).

But the spirit of the thread being Tatum's value is in the stratosphere -- I agree with that.

The standard line is 'no one is untradeable'. All things considered (present production, ceiling, the way he works with this team, etc) it would have to be a pretty special player coming back. Tatum isn't someone you would trade for an ageing all star as he has so much future. So I voted yes on a question that is always a no.

Are people nuts? I live Tatum but there are quite a few players I would trade for and gladly include him aline or part of a package. KP, Giannis, AD, Towns, Jokic to name a few. This "Would you trade him straight up for AD" question is absurd. Of course you do that! That makes him tradeable. Nobody on this year except maaaybe kyrie is untradeable.

So essentially,  why would you trade a guy like Tatum unless you are getting a top 5 guy that is under contract and you feel like you may lose him anyway? Tatum is ours for a few more years as is Brown.  You don't trade them, out of the question. No one is going to make that offer with a healthy top 5 player anyway.

So nobody is untradable. Fine.

But if any of those top tier players (listed above in other posts) are available, it's probably a situation where they're forcing a trade or announced they won't resign (e.g. Paul George, Kyrie Irving), in which case their teams don't have the leverage to insist on Tatum and get him.

That's as close to untradable as they get.

pretty close

Simmons is the next SuPEr Dupper Mega Star.  ..... yes to trade deal.  .....I have zero expectations it ever occuring  , but the question was asked .

Anthony Davis ........yes  as part of whopper deal im sure .....have to keep one of Brown or Tatum .

Tatum is getting experience with a real coach and serious players on a mission  .   In a contention situation ,   tue Lakers Kuzma and Ingram are playing mega minutes practicing with no pressure and not much realistic team expectations .

KP, AD, Jokic aren't top five guys, they are top 15 guys. Listen, I'm not trading Tatum for some 32 year old vet like Gasol, or some merely solid starter level player. But I would package him, and quite a bit more for AD or the right all star level player under 27. The question in the thread was is Tatum untradeable, and the answer is no he's not. The fact that it would take Tatum + LAL/SAC pck + more for AD and still be considered a good deal for the Celtics tells you all you need to know. And this is no knock on Tatum, he's been as good as you can expect, its just crazy that 20 games in people are convinced you can't trade him.

I think what you have to think about Tatum in a trade for say AD/Jokic/Giannis/KAT is that you'll have guess how much will Tatum improve in his sophomore season. He's already insanely efficient and may very well score 14+ ppg on 50/45/90, which I think is unheard of or in select company. He's also a great iso scorer and can play in a system. I'd probably not trade him for anyone tbh, he's on a super cheap rookie contract that still has 3 more seasons left and he's looking like a future near 30 ppg guy on 50/45/90 efficiency. Also helps to have a home grown star ;D

All those guys are not in the market... I like the Tatum Brown duo... let them grow together... hopefully we get a quality center with lac or sac pick... ad or kp will move only in free agency of they want...

I'm not sure why so many people are in such a hurry to trade integral parts of a team on pace for 70 wins (WITHOUT Hayward). My only explanation is the the grass is always greener or some such Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.. Jokic?? Seriously? And I want no part of Giannis after his recent explosion.

I would like to see Stevens get Tatum more involved in PnR. He seems to be standing in the corners WAY TOO MUCH. More clear outs for him and more plays run with him and Kyrie.

Why do they have him standing so much and not cutting or moving.

Whoa.

There is a difference between a guy being untradeable and "being in such a hurry to trade" them.

Second, Giannis getting p---ed at an assistant coach is such a pathetic reason not to want him. You think Larry Bird never yelled at an assistant coach? Lebron? Michael Jordan? Kobe was known for his temper too.

Jokic is a star. If you think him vs. tatum is obvious then you likely havent been paying attention to the Nuggets.
