The amount of deepthroating of the Warriors that was going on in this thread early in the game (and on the forum in general) made me stay away.

They are beatable. Celtics are going to be even better come playoff time. Houston is going to be also. Isaiah will make the Cavs a threat. Healthy Spurs will be a contender. And maybe OKC will get it together. Who knows what the TWolves will become.

The West won’t be a cakewalk like last year. Imagine going up against OKC in the first round, Spurs in semi’s, and Rockets in the conference finals. They aren’t fo-fo-foing that group.

Yeah, what's the point of rooting for your team if you don't give them a chance?

tonight, smart absolutely suck and hurt the team to my eyes. not poor offense, but zero to negative offense....

then i are read such things as this:

Hardwood Paroxysm @HPbasketball
By the way, the Golden State Warriors had a 71.4 offensive rating in the 30 minutes that Marcus Smart played tonight.

me: i love smart.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Went to highlights, watching the game now.  Possibly best camera shot I've ever seen -- Danny Ainge in the background as rookie Tatum sinks two free throws to beat the current dynasty.  This team is going to be ridiculous.

Kyrie and Horford played their worst games of the year, Hayward is out, they shot 30% on mostly open shots in the first.half, Smart was 0 for 100, and they STILL won.

Haha!!! Thousand TP’s!
flipside: Curry and Klay played awful, Boston was the recipient of some kind officiating, the game was in Boston and GS STILL barely lost.

78 page game thread...wow.  Win or lose to me the big story tonight was that the Celtics length and defense really gave these guys problems.  I do believe that Danny constructed the current roster with beating the GSW in mind and I think tonight proved that he's on the right track.  A lot of guys did not play well yet they still found a way - and the C's D was the reason.

Golden State never had the one big KO run that is their trademark.

It's just one game but regardless of what the outcome was there were a lot of real good signs tonight for the C's moving forward.  I also think it showed the GSW management that they still have some work to do with their own roster.  They're too small for what the C's (and the Sixers)  are currently building here in the east.

fair enough!

Even when you look at the flipside, this is an unbelievable win for the Celtics who are playing terrific basketball.

Everyone on the Celtics was great defensively. I thought Rozier, Smart and Irving all did a great job of hounding Curry and Brown and Smart also did a great job chasing Klay around the court.

However, GSW also did a really nice job bothering Kyrie. Cant have it both ways.

Either you acknowledge that Irving, Thompson and Curry all had off days or you attribute all of it to defense.

Harden had 48 points in a blowout win and was +15 on the game.

Marcus Smart had 1 point and was....also +15 in a 4 point game.

Hustle is important!

If IT4 was starting in place of Kyrie, We'd best get blown out for sure.

And they're playing with about 75 million to 80 million dollars of available salary against a team with 135 million of available salary in a league where the soft cap is 100 million. That is with 3 or 4 players on their roster taking unders to ring chase.

That opponent tonight is a unicorn team.
