Rob Covington finalizing a 4 year 62 M contract to stay with Phili. This contract should help bring down Smart's leverage/asking price.

Yikes, $15.5M/yr over 4 years is more than I thought a player like Covington could get. Things could get quite dicey with the Cs negotiations next offseason. At this point, I am fully expecting him to play for the QO before eventually moving on to a different team who will pay him to be their starting PG.

RoCo a high-level 3-D player. Tats right in his price range. Smart ain't getting anywhere near that because he not as good as Cov.

There are 10 total guys in the league like Ro(bo)Co(p), and every team needs one.
And there are 30 teams in the league, hence the money.
I think Ro-co will get a raise this year (they are under the cap this year) and cumulatively get closer to true Garry Harris money (not counting in all the incentives that he must hit to get to 84$/4).
Personally, I'd rather have him than our former AB at that dollar as he can theoretically cover 1-(SB) 4.
From an undrafted guy to this money. (applause)

He is basically Semi's best case scenario.
"Slavers" 4-year contract, steady 4-year development - big bucks for the 3&D guy
