On the wave of the longest winning streak of his still young NBA career, I feel energized to write a new CBS thread. Actually, I was motivated by the comment of my friend (LA Clippers fan, worked for some years as video scout for Synergy), who told me yesterday;
"You know that Brad is the best coach in the game?
Everything he does is perfect."
I mean, I know how he feels about Pop (the ultimate respect) and Carlisle to a similar extent, but he is serious.
"He takes any player in the league and puts him in the best possible position to succeed. He unlocks their games the way you never expect is possible. Noone ever expresses discontent under him, even the vets that don't play much. Guys like Evan Turner whose careers get in jeopardy, get paid 70 mils $ after a year with him. Guys like Crowder look like hidden gems when Brad gets them and they look mediocre after they part with him. He is the first and the will be the best superstar of this Celtic generation."

Best superstar, hmm? Brad is a superstar, he might be on to something, even though it sounds like a "lump sum" statement. Would I rather have him than say Wbrook? Yes, I would. AD? ...Yea. KD? I think I'd still go with Brad.
Possible 30+years of the best guidance and teachings to players 1-17 vs possible 10 prime years of a great player? Brad has a much lesser chance of getting injured :D, but still impacts a lot, each possession. IMO, he also attracts the types of aforementioned dudes. More players would like to play for Brad more than they would for/with any other of the league's superstar, from what I hear, and see. Remember how big free agents avoided Boston, not the case anymore.

I think that Brad will go down as Danny's best hire ever.
Pops fitting career advancement is to supplant Trump, Brad supersedes Pop. It all sounds so logical and plausible, right?

I love CBS, too.    I knew he was special when he took Butler to the NCAA finals.

I hope you did not curse him to break the streak.   Knock on wood, eh?

I hope I didn't, but hey, we can't win them all too. Also, we could be missing our whole starting frontcourt.

The hiring of Stevens is potentially the most impressive move Ainge ever made.  In many ways I think Brad makes Ainge's job easier because he can get the most out of any high character player.  So many teams are constantly reaching for the best raw talent and hoping they get lucky with a grand slam.  The problem is that most coaches struggle to balance player development with winning basketball games.  Stevens gives Ainge the ability to weigh a multitude of factors because Brad is amazing with player development.  It's fair to argue that Jaylen and Tatum have their highest ceiling playing under Brad Stevens.  I'm not sure other coaches would understand how to challenge Jaylen properly.

One of the other things we always hear about is how Brad shows each player how they can impact winning.  Each players development is evaluated by their ability to help our team win games.  Who wouldn't appreciate a coach that evaluates each and every player under that context?

He's just 41 and he's top coach in NBA. It is enough to read what other players and coaches say about Brad.

TP for the topic.

Stevens has surpassed all of my wildest dreams for who I would want to lead our team for the next few decades(hopefully!). I have a feeling about our team and its future that I have had not had since the 80's. I truly believe the next 10 plus years will be magical for us.

If any coach deserves a Jersey to be sold, it is Stevens! lol..I wonder if they would sell? Why don't coaches have merchandise for sale or do they? I bet certain former  and current all star coaches apparel would sell.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

We are so very lucky to have Brad and I think he's the best in the game.

I love the boy genius.
How does he stay so calm?
I would be going nuts on the sideline.

Jinxed him?
Even with Big 3 out we won, 11-26 in the 4th.
I am closer to believing that we blessed him with that post  :D

I loved Doc.

Love Brad more. Besides being masterful preparing for teams, making in-game adjustments, and of course his x’s-and-o’s.... he’s just such a likeable guy. He has respect for everyone, is humble, believes in his players and the organization.

Let’s wrap him up for the next decade or two.

Question for everyone.  Why aren't other coaches able to communicate in similar ways to Brad?  Brad's personal investment in each player goes a long way but I also believe that our organizational philosophy maximizes his abilities as a coach.

The emphasis on high character guys has been obvious ever since Brad came along.  We steer clear of players like Demarcus Cousins because he is a toxic presence with elite talent.  Rondo also got shipped out very early.

Elite Talent + Poor Character = No Chance in Boston.

Ainge and Brad had a plan to develop a culture that was sustainable.  I think other coaches in the NBA are under too much pressure to win now.  This leads to a prioritization of talent above everything else.

I think we are also fortunate to be in an excellent market.  Other teams struggle to sell tickets even when they have a solid playoff team.
