Which Celtics Player Jersey/Shirt Is The 'Safest' To Get Right Now?

So in my life, I've had 4 Celtics jerseys. KG, Pierce, Turner, and Isaiah (I got the Evan Turner one on sale, and it was before the Isaiah trade that was done-in season 2015 lol).

However, as you probably realize, the last few jerseys I've gotten... well they didn't really last long. 

Turner left (which I truthfully expected), but LAST MARCH, I got an Isaiah Thomas jersey just a few days after my birthday, and I'll admit, I actually felt confident the C's were keeping Isaiah long term (max contract) and so I bought the jersey.

Then of course, about 5 months later, he gets traded out of the blue... and now it's kind of awkward going around with an Isaiah jersey (as much as I loved "The Little Guy"). 

So now I'm thinking of buying another jersey... but it's like, who? As we've seen, NO ONE is untouchable and it's sort of hard to tell who will be here long term.

Marcus Smart? Love him, but no guarantee he stays past this season if some team overpays for him (which I fear may happen)

Jayson Tatum/Jaylen Brown? I'd love either and hope they become superstars for this team long term, but have to keep in mind they could be trade bait if Danny finds the right deal for another star 

Kyrie Irving? Risk of him bolting in 2 years when his contract ends.

Gordon Hayward? I think this seems the most reasonable tbh, but it sucked to see him go down like that 6 minutes into his Celtics career... 

Al Horford? I think he's frankly underrated and would love to, but again, once his contract ends (in 2 years), he could be gone too.

Aron Baynes? Looking like a Top-5 center in Celtics History!  (But yet again, we may lose him as he gets overpaid next year, although I hope we keep him on MLE.)

So yeah.... just not sure haha.

Or you know what... why not get the jersey on the guy who is probably the closest thing to untouchable on this team!

I’m with you.  I got a Rondo shirt in October 2014.  Feeling burned, I waited a couple years to get a new shirt — IT’s in February 2017.  I’ve got a Brown shirt now, but I’m worried I’ve jinxed him.  I’m actively not getting a Smart shirt in case I am the curse.

Yeah that's where I'm leaning.

Just a dang shame that I walked into a sports store in the mall in my area (Braintree) and they ran out of Hayward jerseys  (I'll try again next week)

Haha yep. Same conundrum.

Even with Pierce and KG, I got them kind of late tbh (Pierce 2009, KG 2011), and then they both get traded in 2013.

Wish I got KG right after that blockbuster trade for KG went down tbh. And Pierce's a lot earlier.

And yeah your jinx means Jaylen is probably in a package for Anthony Davis next summer/year

If Kyrie bolts in 2 years... that would look REALLY, REALLY bad on Ainge's part.

I mean they had to have some sort of handshake agreement or something involving an extension, right? Or did Ainge just take a big risk here.

As for jersey, get Hayward. Still has 3 years left on his deal after this season and I guarantee he's staying for the entire contract.

I was thinking about this as well. I think Kyrie is pretty Safe as well. Someone like him is not easily traded unless it's forced like just happened and we have his bird rights. He'd be nuts to not resign considering how good our front office, coaching staff, and long term player outlook is. Hayward probably safest though. I just wanted to get a jersey of someone currently playing.
