Yet as the story goes it was his BOSS (Danny Ainge), that told him to do that... but yeah, let's focus on Doc Rivers' actions.

This is a big meh, funny story.

Actually me too.

But it also sorta makes me like Brad Stevens more. I feel like he'd say "What's golf?"

Does Doc actually think he was coaching in Boston when Jake O'Donnell was a referee?

He did say that he wasn’t sure who it was.  So what if O’Donnell retired from reffing when Doc was still a player?  Let a guy tell his stories.

I hate watching golf except when Tiger was a the top of his game.  That was fun to watch.

Doc's story is hilarious.

After his EPIC performance in Game 4 2008 NBA Finals he can tee-off whenever he wants to in my book.

The players won the game but Doc WILLED that team to victory.

That may be my FONDEST memory of being a Celtics fan. And it was at the expense of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Is this news? I'm sure Doc has talked about this before he even left...
"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

It’s an amusing story that some may have heard before, but many haven’t.

lol, yes to both.

I also love the idea of Doc and Ainge acting like boys playing hookie.

Tells you much about the relationship people have in the Celtics organization.
