I listened to and watched NBA TV Game Time and NBA Countdown analysts last night.  They are really convinced that the Cavaliers are just bored.  They kept saying that they are an experienced team and once the playoffs begin they will be great!  They are really trying to sell fans that they are just fine.  I can see Paul Pierece wanting to say that the CAVS are an incomplete team, but felt uncomfortable going against the norm.  Don't them brainwash you too Paul!!   The sports media wants a Golden State and Cleveland Cavaliers rematch.  Shaq (who I really like) says that Wade, "still has a lot left in the tank".  I think he has been using too much of that Icy Hot on his head.  Has he even watched Wade recently ????
This is NOT the same team as previous years.  Most of the players are new and/or old.
We have seen teams stroll through the regular season.  However, those teams are younger and have been together longer (ex.  Golden State).
I don't know many teams in professional sports that have a "team meeting" before a game if the team is bored.  Then you play on your home court and literally get blown out by an inferior team.
Sports analysts can continue to say that the CAVS are going to be fine.  They want to believe they will be fine.  It is fake news, and I don't buy it!!!

Or rather, you don't want to buy it.

Which is the actual definition of "fake news" as coined by the President: News that doesn't fit my narrative.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

I don't.

I have watched most of their games.  When you give up 110pts per game in any stretch of the season, you are in trouble.

If they were missing a great defensive player than I would say that this a minor situation.  However, their best player is 5"8, and not a defensive juggernaut.  Thomas tries really hard (more than most players with superior physical talents).  He is just physically limited.  That's a reality that the media wants to ignore.  They have said from the beginning that the Cavs won the trade.  They don't want to look bad.

"Fake news" is indeed PC for "bad news" for much of the political right.

But more importantly this isn't even news, it's just opinion. Just an opinion the OP doesn't like, which is fine.

I do think Cleveland's in the gimmicky, slap on some big name vets phase our Big 3 teams went through during their later seasons. It didn't do us many favors in the regular season either, and our bigger playoff runs in 2010 and 2012 had little to do with those added vets. On the other hand Cleveland has an All-NBA PG who hasn't suited up for them yet, so it's very hard to judge where they'll be in May.

Lebron is definitely not 5'8"  ::)

But - I agree. They haven't been playing exclusively top-tier teams. I'm sure they're bored but here's the thing:

Lebron can be bored and still be an MVP candidate. JR Smith cannot.

This happens ALL the time in the NBA.  Older, good teams often get off to slow starts and by mid-season have completely made everyone forget about their 3-5 early season record.

These results could be indicative of a real problem for the Cavs, but no way I am banking on it yet.

From a media perspective, I actually find it a bit refreshing that they are going with the wait and see, they are just bored right now narrative rather than the "oh the humanity! the Cavs are done for!" sensationalized view of things that I typically have come to expect from networks looking to amuse viewer eyeballs.

Give it at least 20 games.  That's usually the magic number in the NBA.  if the Cavs are 8-12 after 20 games, then maybe there are more chinks in the armor than we originally thought.

What? Isaiah Thomas is not better than Lebron James
I'm bitter.

I think the cavs CAN turn it on at any point and are essentially resting right now. I dont think they're "bored" but do have the mindset that they can come out of the East regardless of seeding. That being said I still see them being top 3 in the East heading into the playoffs.

It's the hard truth, you can tell by Lebron's attitude he knows the regular season means very little towards the success of this team. Do you think he is really intimidated by Orlando's success right now?

I mean the Warriors have 3 losses already which is unheard of for that team, and every nba analyst still has them as the best team in the NBA.

Whoops :)

Meant to say best "injured" player.

I agree.  Lebron could sleep walk through a game and probably get a triple double.

The likes of JR Smith, Crowder, Wade, Green and company cannot.

Everyone remembers Green.  Lots of talent with no killer instinct.  Total opposite of Jaylen Brown.

If Jeff Green is on your team, you are almost guaranteed to have playing "soft" issues.

TP Never looked a Fake news that way. It's often news one disagrees with (especially DT), bad news or opinion.

I've counted out LeBron too many times over the years. Until he misses a finals, my money is on him.

Fake news is anti-truth. Saying the opposite of what is true. The Nazis used to do that in Germany. Some think Trump does that.
