Who will be our 2nd All Star this year after Kyrie?

Kyrie is starting to come alive the past 5 games, averaging 22.8 / 5.6 / 2.4 with 2.6 steals and 2.0 TOs on 49.4-36.4-100 % shooting splits, and if we continue to lead the East or close to it, will clearly be an all star in the weak Eastern conference.

Assuming we're at or near the top of the East and have a second all star either make the team or be in the running, who is the front runner?  Horford, with his great passing and defense and improved rebounding?  Jaylen as a two way wing with capable scoring?  Or even Tatum if his scoring improves and he can keep up his balanced counting stats and elite efficiency?

What do you think?  I hope we have 2 all stars, and I'd love it to be one of our young Jays!

I think there is a pretty good chance only Kyrie gets the nod this year though.

Horford without a doubt.  No way the coaches leave Horford off of the team unless there is a sharp decline in our play.

Just no respect to Horford, and it saddens me how unappreciated he is on his board.

Yes, his contract is considered by some, an albatross, but try hitting up Magic or Raptors, and they'll squeal with joy to have to deal with Horford's 'weaknesses,' on their team.

Horford and Kyrie are my picks, and I think Jaylen may sneak in, if he can maintain similar averages consistently.

That'd tick me off if we have the best record in the East.  If we have the best record and Kyrie is our only all star, then he deserves to be a top 5-6 MVP candidate like IT was last year.

If we are top 2 or 3 in the East by the all star break and assuming the players production hasn't stalled from their current levels I  think you need to but Brown and Horford on the team.

Brown is playing lights out on both ends of the floor while Horford is arguably the defensive player of the year up to this point while putting up a solid stat line night in and night out.

That being said it will probably only be Horford. The All Star game tends to be all about name recognition and Jaylen Brown is not there yet.

Jaylen will be the centerpiece of the Sophmore/Freshman game and will get his day next year.

Agreed, I don't think Brown will take it. I do think he'll slightly regress, but put up more well rounded numbers on assists and rebounding. He's a great young and two way player. I think him winning the MIP award, would definitely boost his confidence levels to an all time sky high. Allstar is possible, but certainly not attainable at this point as of now.

I think the coaches might select him if he keeps defending and rebounding like he has been.

A lot depends on how they fudge positions and who stays hot. There are a lot of "open" spots on the eastern all-star team so we are going to see some new players on teams who have started hot make it.

Aaron Gordon, Simmons/Embiid, etc.

As an aside it makes me sad that people think Horford's deal is an albatross deal. Once the new Salary scale of the NBA sinks in maybe perception will shift.

my first reaction was "no one" but then I took a moment to think who else would likely fill out the East roster with Kyrie.   
Lebron, obvious.
Giannis - pretty much a lock
Wall - probably.
Porzingis - starting off great.
After those 4, who's really setting the league on fire to be assured a spot on that roster?

Simmons and Embiid will probably get some votes.  Love probably gets some too.  Derozan and Beal probably balancing each other out.

I would not be surprised to see both Horford and Brown get nods - particularly if Brad is the coach in the East.

I mean Draymond doesnt average 20 ppg but has some interesting stat averages.... Maybe Al can get chosen the same way
