The Warriors may very well be the best team in NBA history. We are not ready yet. Tatum and Brown are way too young. Prior to the Hayward injury, I was confident that we would make it to the Finals. Given that the Cavs are in a mess right now, I guess we are still in the picture but the odds aren't in our favor.

The way I see it, the best 4 teams in the East come playoff time are gonna be the C's, the Cavs, the Wizards and the Bucks (not necessarily in that order). The Bucks look scary as hell. Not sure if they are ready to make serious noise this season. Probably not. Having said that, if they somehow acquire a center to replace Maker in their starting 5 (let's say Dieng from the Wolves), I think they 'll be better than us. Obviously, the Wizards aren't a bad team either.

I'd be on board if Hayward didn't get hurt.  But not now.

Tatum is unexpectedly performing Haywards starter minutes at a reasonable level. It's not that unbelievable if horford and Irving play at all star level, and one of brown or Tatum plays at Allstar level. The Cavs look completely lost. The warriors have lost a bit of hunger. It looks open as of now. If only Hayward wasn't injured I'd imagine we'd be 7-0 and experts would be saying we're the favorites in the east giving us at least a punchers chance in the finals. Now I'd say we're 3rd most likely to win after gsw and one of the top 4 east teams.

You gotta remember the conference finals will likely be in May. That is 5 months away. Even if Hayward gives us 15 minutes off the bench with the 2nd unit, we have a good chance of making it to the finals and maybe winning it all.

See what Morris brings us first..also we still need a scoring guard off the bench who can shoot some 3s

Hahaha, Morris is the key to a championship!

The Celtics, our Celtics, these Celtics, this 2017-2018 Kyrie Irving Jalen Brown Jayson Tatum Terry Rozier Al Horford Boston Celtics team, is bringing home Banner #18 this year. This Year.

Some of you old-timers know me from the old Usenet days. When asked for a prediction at the season's start, it became a sort of joke that I'd always predict 41 wins. That was back in the Dino Radja days, the Jeff Green days. Not this year, They're Winning It All This Year, with many more to come. I truly believe Mssrs. Ainge , Stevens and Grousbeck have forged a new dynasty, one to join Russ's, Dave's and Larry's.

LeBron? I laugh. Curry? I chuckle. Bring 'em. I guffaw. The Celtics will be the 2018 NBA Champions, come June.

TP for the optimism.  I'm not quite at your level of positivity but I like your attitude

  • On To Banner 19!
This Year? No.

BUT I could actually see them making the Finals if CLE's defense still sucks the rest of the season. Of course only to get stomped by GSW then.  :P

But NEXT YEAR, once we get a healthy Hayward, and then EITHER draft using LAL Pick or make a trade (w/LAL Pick involved) for another all-star, then we could legitimately raise Banner 18 (even beating the Warriors along the way)  ;D

I say finals this year with GH just coming back for the playoffs.  Then we threepeat 19 & 20.

They can win the East still.  But the only way GS is not winning is if Durant or Green get hurt.
