So he start to use Tatum to bring the ball up and at top as the first passer, becasue he is a better shooter, passer and iso creator(than Brown) and always calm(rarely turn it over), and this also make him touch the ball more to get in rhyhm

On the other hand Brown does more offball postup and cut because he will always be a mismatch on 2 and a better threat near the rim for his strengh versus his inconsistent shooting(for now)

I thought Brad is going to start drawing plays for those 2 but he has exceed my (already high)expectations... just WoW

I'm ready to see Stevens unleash Tatum. Tatum just seems to be standing, a ball mover and a shot every 5 possessions.

He has too much talent. Let's see some clear outs, post ups, PNR and more isolation. Tatum should be taking at least 10-12 shots per game because he will get to the FT line just off his length.

More Tatum shots, less Smart shots.

Horford brought it up a few times as well, as did Brown.

Horford brings the ball up whenever he can, going back to last season.  That doesn't make him (or Tatum) a true ball handler, just that having bigs that can bring up the ball is another bit of flexibility in position-less basketball.

Through 7 games, Tatum has taken the most FT's on the Celtics (1 more than Jaylen, 6 more than Kyrie). He's also 5th in FGA. I feel like that says something about just how hard this kid is to stop, even at 19.

Since he and the other bigs (Tatem and Brown) can handle the ball. I like this idea of them bringing the ball up court. Their teammates and the coaching staff seem good with it too. Makes everyone more connected to the basketball.

My only worry is that they might miss out on fast break opportunities if they become too reliant on it.

Let them touch the ball is one factor but the main purpose of this is to NOT to miss out fast break opportunities since you don't have to always "find the PG and give him the ball" thus save time, another part is to increase ball movement varieties, have Tatum/AL as the first passer and PG as second passer is harder to defend than just simple PG to open men(eg:Rondo)

By the way my worry about Brown's 2 prior terrible games was totally relieved, seems it's just a condition thing rather than skill level (his bad ft/shooting/finish is due to his bad condition)

Today you can just see how hot he is and feel the desperation of his defender when Brown post them up,it's a totally mismatch and should be a automatic 2(+1), they didn't go to him enough i will say

I find it interesting that the biggest knock on this kid is he shoots too much and was a ball stopper. Now people want him to shot more.
Right now I'm okay whit him letting the game come to him, playing really good D, rebounding, and blocking shots.
I personally have been really happy with his game.

You wouldn't believe it, but it's all relative. When the alternative is Smart, Rozier, or Larkin chucking a contested jumper at the end of the shot clock, any sort of Tatum shot is a better shot.

Tatum's handle is amazing for a young player of that size. I also think that Tatum's passing is still a bit underrated. I am very impressed by this young man!

Stevens has to reign in the offense going through Rozier and Smart on that second unit and start having the offense flow through Tatum. Too often, Rozier and Smart keep the ball between them on the perimeter and look for their own shots. Tatum has been one of the most efficient scorers on the team. He needs to get more shots with that unit.

Agree with comments here. Brown v Tatum is an interesting way to judge his game.

He is still "riding the brakes" a bit, thus, he hasn't quite conquered the urge to pass when other options present themselves.

Tatum has a crazy handle and, at this time in his career isn't using it much. His team mates are teeing him up nicely for perimeter shots and that seems to be where it's at for a guy with 6 NBA starts. He doesn't miss free throws and he is a top rebounder just because his instincts are so good.

He "watches the game" a little, but not even close to how Brown was last year. He has not been aggressive to the hoop yet as I don't think he thinks he's ready. His defense, if you watch it, is really good with that wingspan and excellent judgement anticipating his opponent.

He will eventually draw attention from opposing teams as a shooter, freeing up the  other guy from Duke.

In three years, he might just be our best player.
