Jayson Tatum's advanced stats...wow

I was just checking out Tatum's stats, and they are impressive - 15.2 Pts. 6.3 Reb, 1.7 Ast, 1.0 Stl, 0.8 Blk, 51% FG, 50% 3PT, 86% FT. 

An amazing stat-line for a 19 year old rookie who is 6 games in to his NBA career.

But then I looked at his advanced stats, and I was awestruck...

I know it's early but my god - this is a 19 year old kid we are talking about here, and statistics indicate he's been one the biggest impact players not only on the team, but potentially in the league. 

This kid is going to be special.

0.6 PTS/FGA cannot be right. That would equate to only 9 points per 15 attempts, which would be horrendous. Did you mean 1.6 PTS/FGA, which would be fantastic, even including threes and free throws?

KIND OF what you expect from the #1 pick in the draft.

Only 6 games in and eye test but i think Tatum will have a bigger part of offense later in season.  He's nba wise well beyond 19 years old.  A lot of Pierce in his game but height and low post moves.

In my opinion, The real special players are the ones that show greatness early on. Both Tatum and brown have done this, brown showing flashes but Tatum also going all in

He’s been amazing. I had him #2 behind Fultz before the draft.  Something tell me Fultz will figure things out and be terrific but I know for sure that Tatum is terrific and will only get better.  I was angry when Danny traded the pick but now I’m happy with Tatum (and hopefully one of next years draft’s big 5) no matter how good Fultz becomes because it most likely won’t be THAT much better than Tatum. The Lakers pick is just icing on the cake.

He's scored 91 points/57 FGA = 1.6.

We won the trade. As another person said, it doesn’t matter how good fultz is. We got Tatum and another lotto pick. That is better than fultz

Too bad Fultz went to the Sixers. They are a mess from what I can see. Lots of talent but they need some leadership.

Tatum and Brown are both going to be really good. Tatum has a much better handle and scoring knack than Brown. I love them both. The future looks amazing!

Fultz will never have the overall impact on games that Tatum does, no matter how he progresses.

Yes, 1.6 I mean!

For reference that is well above what It managed in any of his years in Boston and is up in Dwight Howard range - which is incredible given Dwight might well be the all time leader in that stat (certainly right up there).

For a 6'8" perimeter player to score that efficiently is unheard of, that he's doing it as a 19 year old rookie is outrageous.

I doubt he'll keep up this level of play, but if he stays even close to it, it would be amazing.

These numbers are well beyond what you expect from a typical #1 pick.  They're well beyond what you expect of an average superstar with 8 years of experience!

Hence why I don't expect them to last.  But crazy in the meantime, anyway.

Tatum has been the best thing, of a number of positives, about the Celtics this season. For me he has anyway. He is thriving under coach Stevens and his system. I think he will continue to achieve great stats, he has the ability to. He is also around some great leaders, even in a relatively young squad. The chemistry in a team which has played so little together is amazing. Tatum's ability to buy into the system helps the team and helps him. Talented and mature beyond his years.
