Should the new verticality-foul-rule change be called the "Isaiah Thomas Rule?"

Yes, Isaiah mastered the art of drawing a foul while coming off a pick and simultaneously shooting.

I believe the kicking-your-foot-out-while-shooting rule change can safely be called the "Reggie Miller Rule." This has been in effect for the past couple years.

And, we probably would be safe giving "James Harden" credit for the refs not automatically giving fouls to the defensive player when it's the offensive player that initiates the contact. *Isaiah was great at that too.

Yes, the NBA has been cracking down on players purposely creating contact when shooting for the past 4-5 years. Even Paul Pierce wasn't credited with drawing shooting fouls even when he hardly initiated contact. So, this isn't entirely new.

This year the drawing-a-foul rules have officially changed...unless a player is clearly going vertically up for the shot before contact is made...no foul is called unless it's continuation play.

My feeling is Isaiah should be given most of the credit for this rule change. Thus, the "Isaiah Thomas Rule". Last season other players used it, but he perfected it to the point that the NBA had to make a rule change.

Do you believe he should get primary credit? Or, should the credit go to some other player?

In my view, every rule, law, guideline and principle should be named after Isaiah Thomas.

A lot of elite scorers were using this move, and I doubt Thomas was any more adept at it than say a guy like Curry, Harden, or Westbrook.

Also, Thomas does not play for Boston anymore, so who cares. It's Kyrie's city now!
