Like I said weeks ago, this whole "knee soreness, out of shape" line is pure B.S!  For a simple between the lines translation...........Morris is not happy to be here and has a pss poor attitude and Brad is not happy about it and Morris is in his doghouse!
He played in one preseason game(very short minutes and not terribly) and hasn't seen the floor since.  He didn't look to be in unbelievably terrible shape in that game.  Judging by reports from the C's he can't even make it from one end of the court to the other without stopping to rest at halfcourt!  You don't get sore knees not playing, and you don't get in better shape(according to BS) if your knees are sore and you can't play to get in shape!
I think the real story is a public relations disaster, so we keep getting this story that just doesn't make sense.

There is literally no evidence of any of this. Morris seems incredibly happy to be on a winning team for once. We're just being very cautious with him given our current injury history.

Any chance he's part of a trade with Philly and is being held out to prevent a potential injury that could upset the talks?
Why would they trade Morris to Philly?

I think Woj reported that they are talking about Okafor

Okay, while I've said on here I wouldn't mind taking Okafor as a flier... trading Morris for Okafor would be extremely stupid.

You can probably get him for like a 2nd rounder at this point.

By trading Morris you keep the DPE available for later and it allows you to exercise the option year on Okafor's rookie deal. They both make 5m so the salaries work. How stupid  the trade is depends on what you think of the Celtics  PF depth.

It would be an interesting move.  Morris is easily the better player now, but Okafor still provides some upside and could be the better player a couple years down the road. A risky move though.

So we trade one of the best 1 on 1 defender in the league for one of the most horrible defensive player? Absolute NO!

Most horrible defensive player? Off of what are you basing your baseless assumption from?

It's unlikely Morris will be re-signed after this contract and with Hayward's injury this is not the Celtics year to win, maybe next year or the year after. If Okafor can become an average defender and rebounder AH can play PF and keep the spacing intact it could work.

He needs time to get in BS's system on both ends, his preseason performance on that regard is just plain horrible

This and it's the spurs, they will eat him alive if he can't play team defense

I think that Okafor can only play the 5. He's too slow for the 4. I think taking a shot at Okafor when Brad Stevens is your coach could be a risk worth taking.

I agree so one of the measures of a potential trade would he what the Celtics PF depth is.

I don't get love obsession with Okafor. He does nothing to make the team better.

Ah, yes, that makes sense.
