I watched some of the Suns-Jazz game yesterday (highlights of Wednesday game) and Len outplayed Gobert and had 13 points, 12 rebounds in 30 minutes of action. Suns won the game 97-88.

So far, he's averaging 10 points/8 rebounds/1 block in about 22-23 minutes/game.

What do you think of him as a potential trade candidate using the DPE, or if he gets bought out by Phoenix later in the season? He may not be the prospect he once was, but the potential is there and he can still contribute very well at a young age too (24 y/o).

Unfortunately though, I don't think we're acquiring his Bird Rights if we trade for him, so he may just be a rental (correct me if I'm wrong).

Of course I'm also assuming Phoenix do bad this season (but not as bad as the Lakers lol), so they start selling pieces and/or buying out guys (I mean, looks like Bledsoe is already out of there).

I can't see him earning more minutes than Baynes.  Len shoots under 30% outside of the paint.  Baynes is a comparable rebounder and shoots well above 40% from mid-range.  Danny made it clear last season that the Celtics aren't interested in acquiring rebounding big men just for the sake of it.  Len doesn't fit Brad's system in any way.

Len as a prospect for a few years would be a different story.  Brad could turn him into a better player than Baynes if given a few years.

I've been vocal about liking Alex Len. (http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=90925.0;topicseen)

This would only require about have the exception given the 1 year deal he signed. But something tells me the Pheonix Suns won't just give him away. They invested a top 5 pick in him and this year is his last chance of getting secured longer term by them (and he is showing signs of reaching his potential).

I like the banger that he is. He has a meanness that we could use as additional low post. I would like this trade a lot. But it might require additional compensation (draft pick or roster player).

Yeah it definitely won't be a cheap trade than say, Okafor would.

Len can't shoot a jump shot right? that means he has no place in brad stevens' system. it's sad that we limit our possibilities like this. I know the NBA is different today but I still prefer my bigs to be a rebounder and an intimidator on defense first above all else.

Phoenix likes Len.  No way he gets bought out and I just can't see Boston giving up what it would take to acquire him.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner
