I used to have favorite gyms for lighting, floors and rims.To a  elite dribbler like Kyrie to check the floor so carefully just makes sense. Also colors could throw someone off.
I played in Old Boston Garden and the celtics claimed no dead spots but opposition thought so-SO DID I.
I found some rims to be friendly,i liked worn in floors, rather than newly sanded and varnished
So a player like Kyrie that relies on such fine tuned aspects of his game -it makes sense he checks out a court and has reservations at first.

He had reservations because he thought it was an old court, he had no problem with new courts before.

Which is why I disagree with the original post. The reservation was only due to misunderstanding. That's why it doesnt "make sense".

Of course it makes sense-it was a retro night and he had reservations due to lack of information-his visuals obviously triggered an inspection that the press is using against him like he was dumb-
If it had been a old court it demanded a query and inspection-how was he to know it was built as new by the same company that built bostons court.
He may even have had a reaction to colors but in the end he was happy for the experience.

Rollie, you're absolutely right. Apparently Kyrie, like a bull, can't see the color red and doing so makes him have an instant fit of rage

There is a media narrative presenting Kyrie as dumb. I posted yesterday the tweet by Adam McGee that started the story about the Bucks court.

Anything Kyrie says will be exploited for fun purposes now. The obvious way around it is to say less.

no. rollie is correct. please do some research on this. i also am affected by colors in ways many people are not. certain combinations seem to glow or vibrate, which them them distracting to me.

to others? they have no idea what i am talking about when i mention it.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

What does Semi have to with any of this? You messaged me to apologize and attributed your odd behavior to your meds, so perhaps it's that again. As for Semi, time will tell on who's right or wrong. I don't think Semi is good, in fact, I think he's a bad NBA player. We'll see where he is a couple of years. Until then, rest easy and enjoy your Semi.

The first time I walked into my local basketball gym, I saw that it had a parquet floor with green trim just like the Boston Garden.

I thought, "Oh, this is the place for me!"

An NBA player going out to pick up any advantage he can gain pre-game by inspecting the court is not dumb
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

Kyrie is fast becoming like Derick Rose in that he frequently makes himself look dumb any time he speaks about anything in more depth than vague basketball and sports cliches.  I agree with Greece in that he may as well say less because every odd thing he says will spread like wildfire.

And how in the flat world did “semmi” get dragged into this?

The fact that he thought the court was held in storage is pretty dumb.
