He thought at first they brought the original 40 year old court  ;D

"I'm all about safety, so we'll see how it is on my knees, see how it is on everyone's bodies," said Irving. "I know this is a pretty older court and it looks like it's fresh painted as well. I'm just going to do my assessment and go from there."

When a reporter suggested it's a newer court that was simply painted, Irving remained skeptical.

"It took me three steps to realize this is not the same NBA court I'm used to playing on," said Irving. "We'll see what's up."

It's just paint on a regular floor....they didn't use the same wood as 50 years ago......

Man Kyrie sometimes.....

Kyrie might want to run something me of these ideas by people before discussing them publicly...

Does he also think that throwback uniforms have been sitting in storage since the 50s?

Is he concerned the court isn't flat, like the rest of the world?

Stuff like this makes Kyrie very difficult to like.  So far it seems like he is 100% bought in to Brad's system but he comes off as very fake off the court.  I want nothing more than for him to become a Boston legend but I still have my reservations.  I don't dislike Kyrie by any means but the rest of the team is easier to root for on a personal level.

Some of Kyrie's antics make me miss IT's genuine emotion and personality.  IT screwed up every once in a while but his intentions were always in the right place.

It's true. I'm very high on Kyrie and I think when he finds his groove in the offense, he's going to be amazing. But as a person, he needs to just be honest. He's always trying to sound smarter than he is and then he comes out with this kind of thing and its hard not to roll your eyes.

I love that he's kind of a weird guy but he just needs to be that guy and stop trying so hard to make people think he's smarter than he is.

.... He said he didn't like the way the court feels.

You guys are micro-analyzing every single thing the guy says or doesn't say or might've said or who has a friend who might've said.

It's like some of you are in a rebound relationship, and you just keep comparing the new partner to the old partner. IT should set up a voicemail so you can leave drunken messages for him at 3AM while you're sitting in the middle of a karaoke bar.

lol This is not the case with me at all.  I heard the audio and it just seems like more of the usual with Kyrie.  I'm looking forward to his post game "assessment" of the court conditions.  If that was the only comment then I wouldn't have felt the same way.  Between yelling at the fan, his ESPN first take interview, and the comments about the court, there is just something off about Kyrie.  I have defended Kyrie in pretty much every thread.  I was all in on the trade and I am very encouraged by his play through the first 4 games.  I am just making the point that IT was very easy to root for.  He is easily one of my favorite players of all time.

Rip on me all you want but my sporting experience is even more enjoyable when I like the players I am rooting for.  This year's Red Sox are a perfect example of a team that I couldn't stand.  They became so unlikable that I couldn't bring myself to pull for them in the playoffs.

Anyways, I am far from making any final judgement about Kyrie.  I am just voicing an opinion about what I have seen so far.  All that matters at the end of the day is that he is bought in and helps us become a championship contender.

Might be a Duke thing.
