Brian Robb is saying on Twitter that tonight's starters are Irving, Smart, Hayward and Horford. With Horford listed as the center and a TBA player starting at "F". I wonder if that is because of the Morris trial or if they are still deciding on who the 5th starter is. Since Media Day, I've noticed how big Hayward is. Not only height, but he looks more built. I wonder if he's going to be starting at the 4 and we are going to get Brown at the 3. Hayward almost looks level with Horford.

Worth noting that the TBA is listed as a F by Celtics. Horford listed as C.

I hoped that Jaylen would start at the 2 and Smart would run the 2nd unit, but if Hayward ends up as our de facto 4, then Smart and Jaylen both starting is an interesting wing combo.

And Morris/Tatum/Rozier off the bench could be potent offensively.  Does this mean Shane Larkin could be running point off the bench or that CBS expects Rozier to be a distributor?

Clearly Aron Baynes is the starting small forward. Can we stop the speculation?

Start Tatum .

the modern era "  Iceman"

We might be missing Morris ,  i wish his trial would hurry up and close , so he can get started.

You never know, this lost time by Morris may give Tatum an early opportunity to start, and he could end up making the most of it and never looking back

I find it interesting that Smart is starting. After how they played him last year with Brown starting in most cases, I thought the same would be instituted this year.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I kind of figured Smart would start. We need someone to set a defensive tone in the backcourt.

This means the 2nd unit of Rozier, Brown, Tatum, Yabu are going to be running.

I agree with you, although they started Brown over Smart last year because they felt it kept the chemistry of the second unit. This year chemistry doesn't really matter with only 4 returning players.

I think Morris would be starting if he were here but since he is not, why not let Yabusele and/or Theis get minutes so we have a chance to see what we have.  Baynes is much more of a known quantity so other than getting reps with the new system, there is not as much learn about him.

I like starting Smart also, again, let's see how he looks alongside Irving and the other starters.  Then let Brown, Rozier, Tatum, Larkin run as a young group.

I wonder if Yabu is in good enough shape to get big minutes right now.  Took time off after surgery.

I think Jaylen will the start once the season rolls around but he has to earn it. Marcus, right now, is the more reliable, better player. I only think it's for the pre-season or the start of it. Marcus would be better coming off the bench but we'll just have to see how much he has improved this off-season. If he's on Avery Bradley level then all yours, Marcus!
