Would you trade Chris Paul for Irving
Isn’t your post about who’s better now? Because whether or not you’d trade for someone doesn’t mean that they’re better right now. Obviously you wouldn’t trade Irivng for CP3. Paul has 1 year left on his deal and is 7 years older. But he’s better than Kyrie right now.

I disagree. Project this team in the Playoffs. First of all Paul never makes it out of the first round Healthy. Who would you rather take the final shot of a game 7,  Paul or Irving.
Irving isn't even close to being as good as Paul is, and probably never will be.  And you aren't asking a question that means much.  82 games plus all the playoff rounds is more relevant than one shot in a game 7.  I mean, if you think that one shot determines who is better, you'd say Robert Horry was better than Hakeem, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, etc.

Agree with the OP premise, FOR US. Slightly better than Wall.

Though Wall seems to be a better team-involving player, we need a PG who can shoot from outside (supposedly he will play with Smart many minutes).

Assuming we are talking about this year only, no. That health risk is so tricky with CP. A buddy of mine, a Clipper fan, was so frustrated about it for consecutive playoffs. And also, CP can't use as many possesions (take over ability, usage above 30% with eff.) as good as Kyrie. Basically, he is a weaker 1st option. CP3 is in many elements a professor to Kyrie. His defense, expirience, playmaking, instincts to get the ball (one of my favorite skills) are much more refined. However he does bark a lot (leads to bad ref rep, bugs teamates, gives negative example to young players), is small (basketball), injury prone (warning word wall) and is on a last year of his deal.

Did I say that one shot makes you better?  Here is what I'm saying. Hayward is good, he's not a #1 option that takes you to the promise Land. Neither is Chris Paul, Neither is John Wall. Excellent players, but not #1 options on a title team.

Kyrie is that Good, and you said it yourself, Her was the #1 option on a team with LeBron James on it.
