TP. I've remarked on this phenomenon a few times already. It's like some people suddenly developed green blinders as soon as Kyrie was acquired. Until he proves differently, he is the same player now that he was before the trade for both his strengths and flaws.

I don't see the comparison to Kobe at all. Best comp I see is better version of Jamal Crawford.

First time I've heard that, and it's not bad. Kyrie's more flash than substance, but a heck of a lot more substance than Crawford (hence the "better version"). They are genuinely similar in style of play, though, unlike Kobe and Kyrie. I like it.

I think Kyrie is much better than Crawford in terms of scoring efficiency.

Of course, he's Crawford with more substance.

Sure, but no one is debating whether Kyrie is good or not (he obviously is), they are debating whether Kyrie can become a true alpha who can lead a team to the promise land. That's a legit doubt to have and it will be answered in the coming season.

But as I sort of mentioned in that original post^, many here are super confident he will become a true alpha and that he's about to elevate his game a ton.

Count me in as one that neither hated nor loves the trade. IMO, this trade was about the future, not next year but the next 6-7 years. I think it will be a long time before we know if this trade was good or bad for the Celtics. And, in the meantime, I going to cheer on the men in green and hope the Lakers suck and get us a #2 pick.

If everyone is so "butt hurt" because we lost a beloved player (and let's not mention also trading away a bargain contract, a decent center prospect, AND a sure lottery pick - with no protection), what will 25ppg really do? IT scored more than that anyway. But wait, he's five (5!!) inches taller!!!1!!1!!

I could understand if we traded Bradley and that package, I get it. But a healthy IT is too close to Kyrie to warrant everything else added in. Now if he really won't ever be the same, I can see how this makes sense. We will know by next May how good this trade was. When we see IT in the playoffs and what that Nets pick turns out to be.
