That's a pretty solid article. Fans are expecting that "leap" from Kyrie, and it's far from a given.

I stopped reading when the writer called Jae Crowder "a defensive ace." Sorry, but his D last season left a lot to be desired.

I let it fly; Beck's rock solid.

Eh, I've never been a fan of any of the Bleacher Report guys.

Me neither.

Uh...the fact the article is on B/R ought to tell you it isn't worth reading, let alone putting any stock into.

It's a sad day when B/R passes for legit journalism.

Yup.

That was the case a few years ago, when all their stuff was fan-sourced. Now they've got some actual writers with NBA connections. Beck, for instance, has written for The NY Times and the LA Daily News.

Of course he has some flaws. Take away those flaws and he's Stephen Curry.

Shocked? Look at their offensive numbers last year playing alongside Durant/LeBron. Steph is one tick above.

A motivated Irving with a new coach, new teammates, new ownership, new fans absolutely has MVP potential. If he was already an MVP, he wouldn't be available at any price.

Overpaid? Please. That's sour grapes. When's the last time a player on Irving's level was traded for less?
Take away anyone's flaws and they will be much better than they actually are.

Isn't this the same Kyrie that went toe to toe with the best defense in the league in the finals two years in a row and tore them up?

Who do the Cavs defend Kyrie with now?

This is what no one wants to talk about. If IT was the only worse defender than Irving then we made out. LOL

I think he is hoping that the BKN pick turns out like Bennett?

Highly doubtful, but hey, a few of Cleveland's last few top picks have been questionable. Bennett was catastrophically bad though.

Uhhh... I'm gonna side with Danny and Brad on this one.  Kyrie is a better player then IT.  This isn't a debate pals, check the playoff stats and experience and overall resume.  Kyrie is younger. Kyrie's contract is longer.  This is a win.

Getting rid of Jae is a positive.  Tatum/Brown/Hayward is much better for this team in the future and probably even now.  Jae would have just gotten in the way. Another win.

We used 3 of the 4 BRK picks, I think it's ok if we trade one for a superstar 25 year old. Worth.

Please explain to me how anyone dislikes this trade? You are putting a strange amount of disrespect on Irving's game and I dont know why, he's such a good playoff performer and really good in the clutch.

We are gonna love this guy.

Come on people stop using your hearts so much.

Or he can watch the final moments of game 3 of the 2017 finals when Irving's hero ball resulted in unnecessarily using up the shot clock for pointless dribbling around in isolation only to throw up a brick and effectively ensuring that his team falls into the dreaded 0-3 hole... That was one of the most terrible mistakes I've seen in a while and the possession was symbolic for what Irving's critics dislike about his game in general.

Look, I'm not saying that Irving isn't great or that his shot in game 7 wasn't phenomenal. All I'm saying is that at this point we should be smarter than to judge a player on one or two moments like the above - even if they came on the biggest stage.

Doesn't matter anymore, we gave a souvenir to a robber that slept with our mum the night prior, we can only hope that Kyrie will develop into the Alpha, it's time to move on and look forward.

Lol how are you going to call a PICK a bust. We don’t even know where it will land yet, let alone what player will be selected. It is simply a very valuable pick right now. Unprotected from one of the worst teams. Calling a specific pick a bust is one of the stupidest things Ive heard in a while. They’ll have to draft a player before you can call him a bust.
