I still don't like this deal. We just bet the farm on a guy who:

- Has never been a #1 in his NBA career (or even college)
- Demanded to leave a team that has made the NBA finals 3 years in a row because he's playing with the greatest player of this generation
- Said multiple amazingly stupid things in the past
- Supposedly was a locker room problem during the playoffs
- That we have no certainty of re-signing (though I think that will happen)
- Who either couldn't or wouldn't play defense for entire seasons at a time
- Who couldn't win games without Lebron

Ouch. Wince. Groan.

With all of that said, I hope he proves my fears unwarranted. I hope he enjoys his new-found freedom and playing for one of the best coaches in the league helps him elevate his game. I hope he develops into the kind of locker-room leader that every team needs. I hope that he decide to re-sign with the team. I hope that he learns to play defense.  I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.

Cheer up, Granath.

And you need to update your Jaylen tag to Four years, now, LOL.

"Traded the farm"

Meanwhile Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and the 76er/Laker pick look at you like you're slow.

Bet
the farm. And you think I'm the slow one.   ;D ;D ;D

Same concept. You're still wrong and look like a 11 year old IT fanboy

Thanks for the laugh. The last time I was a young fanboy it was with Bill Russell. Not a bad choice if I do say so myself. But I do so love IT's game and demeanor and I will miss that.

As for you, I'm terribly sorry that your school still hasn't taught you to read but please don't take your hostility out on the rest of us. I'm sure we can help you. Let's start by spelling C-A-T. I'll spot you the C and the A.   ;D
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Dang it! I was hoping no one would catch that and thus I'd get another year!   :)

- This entire season is going to be about whether or not Lebron is leaving Cleveland and Lebron will play up every single second of it, who wants to deal with that?
- He was trolling, he said shortly after he was well aware of how scientifically impossible it would be for the world to be flat.
- Keyword: supposedly. That story only leaked after he requested a trade. Funny how that happens.
- He's excited about coming here. His commitment was enough to convince Danny to give up the Nets pick. That's good enough for me right now.
- Still a defensive upgrade - even marginal - at PG
- Isaiah didn't win before Brad Stevens. Just saying.

TP. People are waaaayyyy too critical about this deal, especially given the alternative was keeping and maxing out a severely injured IT and an unneeded malcontent swing man.

But he was the number one pick in 2011.

This is not something you can refute.

Farm? Isaiah isnt winning us a Championship as much as i loved him. Jae is a dime a dozed 3D player. Ante is all upside, and the brooklyn pick was 1 of many.

Far from betting the farm on a current SUPERSTAR.

And you sound like a 5 year old Kyrie fanboy. Granath's point is that he's not sure that if this deal would give us what we paid for, due to the variability of the pick. It's not like he's wishing bad on Kyrie, he's just unsure whether he'd take the leap and I share the same conerns.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

Funny, I thought the alternatives were Demarcus Cousins, Jimmy Butler or Paul George, all way better than the chucker prima donna we got.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

It's pretty hilarious and ironic to call Kyrie a prima donna, while in the same breath saying you'd rather have Demarcus Cousins.

Hell, arguments can be made that both Butler and George are bigger prima donnas than Kyrie.

Way to critical? This board has done the usual Danny has made a great trade routine. Same thing happened with Fultz. It was almost unanimous that Fultz would be a great player for the C's and the pick should not be traded. Ainge trades the pick and a complete 180 takes place. Fultz suddenly becomes a flawed prospect. So no, it is a great trade regardless of what happens.

I still don't like this deal. We just bet the farm on a guy who:

- Has never been a #1 in his NBA career (or even college)

Other than the 3 first years of his career in which, you know, he was the #1 option and played very well.

Quote
- Demanded to leave a team that has made the NBA finals 3 years in a row because he's playing with the greatest player of this generation

So... we spent all our years mocking LeBron for how much of a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. and obnoxious he is, and get surprised when someone doesn't want to play with him? OOOOOOOKKK...we're assuming things though.

Quote
- Said multiple amazingly stupid things in the past

Yeah, that pretty much applies to just about everyone but a selective few, a selective few who aren't on the market. But yeah, he's said some stupid things. But whatever.

Quote
- Supposedly was a locker room problem during the playoffs

Meh.

Quote
- That we have no certainty of re-signing (though I think that will happen)

Just about everyone we would've traded for comes with this. So a non-factor.

Quote
- Who either couldn't or wouldn't play defense for entire seasons at a time

Yep, then again... we traded Isaiah Thomas.

Quote
- Who couldn't win games without Lebron

How much was Pierce winning without KG and Allen? I mean, you're crapping on a player who was in a DISASTER of an organization after LeBron left asked to be a leader from the get-go since his rookie year.

I don't like Irving, don't care for him... hope he wins me over. But I think a little bit of proper context and perspective is warranted.
