Woj reports the deal is going through.
Ainge trades an injured PG who were weren't going to resign anyway and Crowder and a pick into Kyrie Irving.
Nice.
Assuming this is true, I'm relieved that it's done. Great deal for the Cavs - by far the best they could've gotten, and a good deal for us as well.
Wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland's GM burned a lot of bridges in NBA front office circles with how he handled this deal with the Celtics. I get that his job is to get the best deal possible for his team, but it's a close-knit industry and these executives need to work together on a regular basis. I could see Boston - or any other team that feels this was a bush-league delay by the Cavs - being hesitant to work with the Cavs on any future deals.
Here's to the Nets making the playoffs.
